Carwings v1.0 - RELEASED

Nah i dont need to control it with RR, maybe eventually I'll get the cable and all that but for now i just want to use my system as speakers basically. If I use the mic-in i'd have to run another 3.5mm extension from my dash but i guess thats the best way..

Could i have the "ipod" button so that when you click it, it just turns orange indicating the ipod is active? similar to the way the shuffle button stays orange when on? This way i wouldnt need to have another menu and stuff. Just have like a simple command of..

1) Check if any other media is playing (ie "Music" "Video" or "Tuner") and switch them off.
2) Unmute MIC-in.
3) Mute MIC-in when it is clicked again

What do you think?

Seems simple enough to do, I was actually starting to think about iPod integrating since even a full blown car PC still won't stop people from wanting to plug in the iPod. Would be a handy feature and what you suggested is actually a great idea. I suggested the alternate menu if you want to control the iPod with RR, which I am curious myself if RR can do that. I am going to check it out.

Your request came at a good time since I can work this into the next version.

you are exactly right- no matter how much music I have stored on my hard drive, a friend would still want to get in my truck and play their ipod now and then. If somebody could help me out with what lines of code I need to add where that'd be great..

Update, I am going to need a fresh interface to grace my new hardware projects. After playing with the caRR PSD for a few more hours I have settled on a design that appeals to me. Just wanted to know what you guys think, I agree the curved menu bar has good aesthetics and switched back.

Carwings V1.5 still getting hacked on, needs minor revisions and coding, but I am turning attention to caRR (which will basically be carwings v2) for some really nice smooth interfacing. There is some shock skin that spilled into it :)

Well, you asked for an opinion, didn't like the green/black thing. Too dark for day time, the black part will appear like a mirror, IMHO. I like the original Carwings better, can't wait for 1.5!

I prefer the Carwings colors as well, matches my nissan interior lights.

:) My interior is green, although I'm getting a new car in about 6 months so who knows by then. Colors aside, they are easy to change, what about the layout and feel?

It's good otherwise, essentially a fusion between the shock and carwings. Both are solid skins.

OK well I decided to scrap the fusion'd skin, just something about it I didn't like enough to start coding. I was playing more last night and I think I finally have some art I am happy with for cw2, will be a GDI+ design, so the fish background can be anything. I don't mean to be such an art whore, really!

Also was messing around with the updated version of carwings 1.5. I'm considering releasing it in beta since everything is not perfect, and a couple menu's are still buggy. I usually only like to release finals, but honestly I want to start a new coding project and have a feeling cw 1.5 one will get pushed to the back burner. I figure with a beta, at least some of the talent can wrench on it again :) Let me know what you guys think.
