    Help with Very Simple SKin

    Hi,

Could someone tell me if this simple skin is possible and what is the easiest way of trying to get this to work?

I basically just want a very simple main menu that has 4 categories. As listed in the picture.

When I click on the one category, it opens up C:\classics folder list
When i click the "rock" category, it opens up the C:\rock folder list

I tried using the skin editior to do some of this but i dont know how to make it view a specific folder.

Thanks in advance. I attached very simple pics of what i want to accomplish.

any help would be much appreicated!

You need some images (or use the above ones) for making the skin, then it's just a matter of making the skin files from that. You can use "LOADLIST;C:\classics", "LOADLIST;C:\rock" and so on to load that folder as the playlist -- but you'll still need butons to play/pause and manage the music... if it's just like above you'll get frustrated very quickly.

I suggest you read the skinning tutorials in the Skin's subforum.

    Here you go mrcanngo,
    http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/...final_upd8.zip
I went by your picture and this is what I came up with, if you don't like the image at least the code is there for you.

    directory paths: c:\classical, c:\rock, c:\soft, and c:\newage.

main menu has playlist with buttons to each directory. I ran out of buttons so the exit button is hidden in the upper left corner.

audio browser has directory list with add track to playlist, on this screen the "prev" and "next" buttons are used to browse directory. again I ran out of buttons so the upper right corner has a hidden button to clear list(also on main menu).

if you have any tracks other than mp3 you will have to add them in each skin.
go to skin editor open mrcanngo skin goto class.skin under screens then open the sd properties and add file types( same for soft, rock, newage) or you can open each .skin with notepad

I can provide the psd's if you want to change the color/design

    menu

    WOW

Thank you for all the help!!! That will save me tonnes of time.

    Another couple of questions please:

I have wav files in my itunes which are all tagged.
I know that wav files dont have id3 tags but i was somehow able to transfer the itunes database and my playlists into winamp.

Is there anyway that when i hit on "CLassics" or "Rock" for it to allow me to browse my playlist that i made(and choose songs out of the playslist) instead of it loading the entire list?

I have already made long (300 or more songs) playlists that i seperated into Classic/Rock/new/soft etc...

    Thanks soo much guys!

I don't think rr can read the wav tags.
do you need a separate button for a playlists directory?
it's set up where you can add one track at a time or if the album folder is highlighted it will select the whole album, is that what you mean?
I made a mistake by putting the file types in the skin, I will update the skin shortly and post it back up.

wow thanks soo much for all that work!

I might try converting them all to mp3 and then just using the skin you provided. That is awesome! thank you.

BTW- do you know if converting them in itunes from wav-mp3 will have the tags automatically added?

I wont get a chance to do this till probably next week, just curious.

Thanks again for all your help!
