transparent menu for video player

Hi everyone!

I just started my first RR skin and already got stuck. I want to make a transparent control in the video menu. Till now I’ve tried transparent .png, .gif images and pink background for the empty image, than run out of ideas.
I am doing smth wrong or is just not possible.

This is what it shoud look like:

it would take some modding, but take a look at what Blk02si did with the carwings iguidance screen, you might be able to change the script he used to make this happen.

Trouble is, even with transparent png's the background is till there and if no background is set then it is shown grey..

I would assume you can do it using clipping... it would not (by any means) make it look smooth with interpolation of the video/background, but if you make some nice squared buttons you can clip the rest of the image off an leave only the buttons seeing through the video.

This can be done with autoIT using GDI+, you can see an example of this in the curved transparent drop shadow as seen in the navigation menu of Carwings.

Talk to El Camino, he is a great autoIT programmer, I had a rough script and he polished it up nicely.

Love the idea, design, and willingness to push the envelope.

You also deserve praise Blue, for your autoIT skills are also stellar and you have contributed a lot of code to the RR project. I mentioned El because he helped me out on the Carwings skin.

So what do you think about mkl's idea?
