I have it running and it works a treat, i am just waiting on a reply for the skin for the front end that i stumbled across on here that looks similar to the garmin software, not the osk but another one
If you get GMPC, get it with the receiver that's bundled with it, or do research on the correct receiver to get.
If the geniouses here hadn't came up with the overlay, it would be totally usuless IMO.
And the UI ain't "all that" either.
Is it obvious i don't like the thing?![]()

I have modified my original garmin skin, i have modified the look of the garmin buttons to look like LSX.
if anyone is interested I have attached the files, NOTE atm they are only for 600x800 and the buttons when pressed are red
To use them download monkeyracer's original files and follow his instructions then copy my files over the top of his..
AND
copy img_pc.gir to you garmin folder.
Right - i'm back off ma hloidays now - so i'm going to try and get GMPC to work again with the OSK like Treetop suggested.....fingers crossed
------------- edit-------------
HA ! it works at last.
Monkey - you were right - the button editor wasn't adding the string to the exectbl.ini file, so it wasn't calling the overlay and app properly.
Works like a dream now though![]()

Any chance of a version of this to use in FreeICE ??
Car : Ford Focus Zetec 1.6
Carpc :Lin-ITX Plus 7" touchscreen/Toad 8" roof screen
Morex 3688 case/M2-ATX PSU/Commell V-672 P4 3.2Ghz/1024DDR2/40GB 2.5" SATA HDD/Sony DVD/CDRW
BU303 GPS/Mercury 11b WiFi/Parking Sensors
Colour I/R Reversing Camera
Not likely to have support for FreeICE. There are three pieces to this puzzle; Elcamino's overlay, Thunder's sendkeys, and my graphics. The graphics are easy, but you'd have to find a way to make freeice do the same thing that the sendkeys and the overlay do to get it to work. Since I don't use FreeICE, it's not likely to happen.
Update on resolutions: I've been really busy in the real world trying to find a job, and that's been dominating my free time, so I haven't really gotten any headway on the new graphics and the new resolutions. It will happen, but my first priority is to find a job, then I can get back to this.

Ok I am having some problems with the overlay. I have a video here and to explain a little bit here is what its doing......When I load RR and use the navi button the overlay comes up BUT if I have not already loaded Garmin before the program it will no load. Only If I load Garmin then startup RR does it come up with the overlay YET there is no keyboard still. Also you can see when I close everything out and go to the start menu and load back Garmin it takes a really long time to load anyway(does anyone know why?). At the end I tried to zoom in on my config but it blurred so Ignore that part.

I don't think you'll be able to use the "navi" button; you will have to change the command for a button you will never use, like i changed the "sirius" button to "GARMIN" and assigned it the command GMPC||GMPC_OVERLAY||RUNGMPC
First follow the instructions from the original plug-in then follow the instructions for the LSX mod. If you are on the right track, you will have to overwrite some files in the LSX folder. The last thing you should do is copy a file to the garmin folder; it will ask to overwrite also but i renamed the original file instead.
After all that, it still wont work untill you change the button command in LSX - do you know how to do that?
Thanks treetop777,
Basically, if you do anything OTHER than FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDEDyou WILL have issues. If you have issues, you didn't follow instructions.
If you did follow the instructions EXACTLY as provided, and you still have issues, please post them here. Also, please post the steps you've taken to resolve it, the skin you are using, and your rr.ini and exectbl.ini (in code or quote tags, or as a .txt attachment) and I (we) can try an figure it out for you.
Thanks!
