I just realised that the Elcosmenu included with the OSK from the first post isn't the newest one. So I copied over the newest version and now it stays on stop when starting GMPC. However it does disappear when getting to the part where you enter the street name. I haven't yet updated to the Feb RR edition which may fix this as it says it handles the start button/taskbar in Win7 better.
we just finishing porting our version of GMPC Plugin to CF3.it not only overlies properly but also detects audio directions and mutes the music while directions are spoken.
We can do the same port for RR so you guys can engoy it on RR front end too =)
Let me know if you interested
check Centrafuse formums for details
Actually muting/lowering the volume of music when GMPC speaks is possible in RR too. Some of us have it working using NavMute (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/garm...reat-gmpc.html)
Actually one thing is, have you noticed whether GMPC has a really low volume compared to other programs like Winamp?
will look at that link, volume issue is easy to fix to =)
i mean it will cost me sat $200 do do 1 more driver for garmin, but if there are anough ppl to lijne up and put in few buks i think we can do special library for amplifing virtual audio chanel for garmin
Oh, well I was wondering if you had noticed that issue or if it is just me. I saw another guy on here was playing around with the Garmin API the other day, that looks interesting too.
Updated to the latest RR version which actually hides the W7 taskbar, but the overlay still randomly disappears from time to time if explorer is running. Not that big a deal I guess since I'll start Windows straight into RR instead of explorer.
I did have problem w. audio levels myselve :( just got used to low volume directions, but we had project for other clint to manage audio streams. so we can recompile it to suit needs of amplifying garmin audio levles.
As to overly, our new engine has extreme stability ;-)
the error i am getting is caused by the labels that i've included in my skin. when i comment out the labels, the error does not appear. i had tried turning off the timers that update the labels first but that made no difference. only when i get rid of the label code does the error go away. anyone have any ideas?
@tempgp a rr port would be awesome. would it be possible to have music player commands and label support like the screenshots above?
yep thing like that should be easy job...
we will ned new brain to work w/ RR though
well, let me see what i can get... if i rekease our port you will do the marketing for it ;-)
And I will also need some one else help on skininfg and figuring out ways to add buttons to launch app (I havent been conding for RR for more then a year now)
I also get this error many times. I run this overlay with Windows MicroXP and RoadRunner.

I am also having huge resource problems. It seems the entire RoadRunner is slow ever since I installed the GMPC Overlay.. When I try to type in some letters, it takes about 3-4 seconds for that letter to appear.. but I can type quickly if I am confident I dont make any errors, and after about 5 seconds the entire street name will appear.. But the problem is, it also affects playback. If I hit Music on RoadRunner, and I try to double-click to switch to another song, it takes about 3 seconds to start playing the other song.

I don't know what version of ElcosMenu I have (how do I check?). I believe I have the 1.25 because I saw the note in the first post when I installed it. Which version is the fastest one?
I am running RoadRunner with Rob's BMW E36 skin, on an EPIA M10000 with 1GB RAM on a 40GB notebook harddisk (4200RPM).
