New BMW iDrive Version, possible new skin perhaps?

Looking real good, drove a new 7 last night, played with the system, its pretty fancy!

I really like how the screen is like a super widescreen, its like a 4:1 ratio lol.

I've been doing some work based on it also. My interpretation of the thing:

As you can see on the menu layout mine will be a lot simpeler than Enforcers one. Only the basic functions will be present in mine. Also, this is the night version of course. The day version will probably look very similar to Enforcers one. That is, If I ever finish the darn thing...

The second one in mine is actually a transparent version, so my menu is very simple.

I ment that the layout (audio, video, radio,...) in mine is simpler than yours (communication, information, navigation,...) and allready shows that mine will have a lot less features.

Actually, I've started to dislike transparent skins a bit. For me, a non-transparent skin looks more OEM and you can put a lot more detail in the look of the skin.

The only transparent skin I like is LSX Void but it has too many features for my taste. That was the problem I was having with your iDrive in the end. Too many things in it that I didn't use made it needlesly more difficult to navigate in.

So I made my own simple skin based on VW's touchscreen units but it's starts to bother me I now actually have a VW based skin in my bimmer...

So when I saw the first pics of the new iDrive I started messing around with those. We'll see what will come of that.

well for the pics above I have just taken the wording from the current iDrive.

I haven't done aything else yet.

So that was just for concept

I think a lot of people are interested in a fully loaded version of the new iDrive.

They all will be disapointed with the one I come up with...

Well I hope to spend some time with the current designs and add some more goodies to them, now that I have released a few of my RR plugins, so I can take a little work from development.

But My iDrive config needs reworking and I have so many different versions where I have experimented with various plugins that I am not sure which is the right one.

I do like your graphic work though.

One of the main reasons I haven't worked too much on the classic one is I wanted to change those backgrounds and couldn't find a nice speaker cone or nice swooshy lines for the navigation like the real iDrive had, and there you have a nice speaker cone in the new iDrive, I am jealous.
