    ok, for example I'm using /DEFINE FRed 255 inside the skin file. How can I read that value (255) from an included flash? because _root.FRed gives 0.

    And the 2nd point; is about the folder.gif and media.gif for the browser skin. How can I have a dynamic value (from a variable for example)? Because for sliders I can use "/DEFINE ThemePointer "_inc_pointer_Night.png" to have a different slider based on day/night setting of the skin.

    you cannot define a custom color for TEXT in flash

    Thanks for the input. I tried an alternative; using a variable (well, 3 for RGB) and a label inside the skin file and it's still not passing the value...which really should have worked.

    are you displaying the label (meaning is the actually RR label shown on top of your flash?) If so then the color will display as it should.. but the dynamic text area doesnt read the labels color from RR.. though that'd be pretty excellent if that were possible!

    I can't say I'm an expert at flash but if I could get the variable value inside the included flash then I can change colours of objects using actionscript.
    Code:
    tmp_Hex = rgb2hex(r,g,b);
    //    tmp_Hex = rgb2hex(255,0,0);
    myColor = new Color(Sprite01);
    myColor.setRGB(tmp_Hex);

    well if u can handle it that way then what we flash guys do is read the variable from a text file .. skin.ini for example.

    Code:
    &ButtonColour=00EB1201&
    is in skin.ini .. then

    Code:
    loadVariables("skin.ini");
    _root.col = "0x" add _root.ButtonColour;
    in the flash file. This works for images.. i've never seen it done for text though. Interested in seeing if you can get that working

    Thanks! I will need to change that variable in the skin.ini but because or the MIME format of the flash variables I dont think thats possible without using a separate txt file. Might be a workin thing but its not the most efficient for me.. There must be a better way that works.. I tried SETFLASHVAR command, and the normal Hidden Label to pass the variable to flash that worked on other skins but not on this. Need to test it more.

    Found it! Had to use SETFLASHVAR from OnEnterFrame not from OnLoad:
    Code:
    onEnterFrame(includingFirstFrame) {
        fscommand("SETFLASHVAR;THEMERGB;$THEMERGB$");
    <<<< ... >>>>
    }

    Now, can I use the same variable in place of /DEFINE?
    skin.ini:
    Code:
    themergb=255,0,0
    menu.skin:
    Code:
    L,216,79,82,25,$themergb$,14,"Arial","=TITLE:","LEFT"
    Cose I tried that but it didn't work...
