I really like it, nice buttons and design. The icons are somewhat confusing when looking at for the first time, but I'm sure after using the skin they become very clear. Stick with it, would like to see this one released!
After a bit of experience with the carpc and my previous skin I came to a few conclusions regarding skins and how to improve use, functionality etc...
Given the features that I use are MUSIC, GPS and OBC (IBUS):
- Need 2 skins; one for day with hi contrast and one for night.
- Need quick navigation.
- Need a "drive" screen; with most used info / most used commands.
- Keep design minimal.
- Use the most efficient way to have custom Day/Night skins without making 2 separate skins.
- Use large text, buttons, images and well spaced.
- Use a dark background for night, light for day*.
So I started on a new skin... call it "BMW Minimal" for now...
- Quick navigation:
Top 4 buttons on all screens for main functions:
MAIN - Drive screen with selectable center info panel
OBC - BMW IBUS info, much like on IgoBMW
GPS - external
MUSIC - browse & playlist in one
- Day/Night skin
Selectable font color, background, logo for each mode
Used custom font for icons/bars
Quick button to change mode
- "Drive" Screen with 8 info panels
Logo, Player, Visualization, Speed, Playlist, AlbumArt, IBUS lights, Notes
- Light CPU Usage and smal size; about 1.5MB unzipped.
- Also includes Weather, Mixer, OSK and Exit screens.
Still need to work on this to finish it but till them maybe you can help me a bit and tell me the best way to do following..
1. I want to send the font color to flash from "/ DEFINE" so I can have same color for Flash Gauges.
2. Want to change the folder.gif and media.gif to have same color as font.
