hi, i think i may have found a bug with skin editor .5, when you load a transparent skin, and then go to a different screen of it, the previous screen shows through the current one. also if you load a skin, and then open a different (transparent) skin, the first skin is still visible through the newly opened trans. skin. the previous screens stay in the background until they end up be opaque because they just pile up (dont know how to describe it well).

here is a screenshot of whats happening:

other than that, its great, i love the new ilists (although i wish they could be transparent).

    thanks,
    david

This is happening because you didn't place a background.jpg file in the editor's folder. So RR doesn't have a background and it's keeping the previous screen as a background. Save a background.jpg file and you'll be good to go.

iLists are not transparent due to performance limitations. I may re-visit that sometime, but I saw considerable performance limitations with making a transparent iList.

I have to say this skin editor rocks. I have been using profits version for a while now, but with all the recently added features to RR, I was manually coding quite a bit on my own.
Thanks again for another great addition to Road Runner...

first time of using your new editor i thought i had graphic faults.

when the cursor is in field of a box, the graphic inside the box shift 1 pixel up.
in profit's editor you cant see this because the selected box is white.
but some wishes i have to the editor.

a girder would be helpfull for skins like GASPRICEFINDER or WEATHER with a lot of information to bring the messages in a row.

the backgroundskin.jpg, dont fix it in your program.... take the file "SETTINGS" for it.

i use 6-8 different screens to find the best textcolour. always rename a file is no nice job.

the background.jpg fixed it for me, thanks.

how much performance would the trans. ilists take? as you can see some of us have very powerful pcs instead of the regular mini itx boards that would probably be able to handle it pretty easy. im not trying to put the ilists down at all, i love them whether they are trans or not (i actually just finished redoing my skin so i can have them ). i was just wondering, is there any way to be able to code them to be selectable (trans or solid) so that the people with overkill pcs (like mine ) can try it out?
either way, the new release is amazing as always. i cant wait to get it updated in my car

    thanks,
    david

How about applying the bitmap to the entire list instead of each item? Perhaps by dividing the bitmap up.. probably gonna be tricky though.

Guess ive been slacking on the skin editor lateley huh? Anyways I grabbed a copy to check out the added features and i get an active x error.

Is this due to the GDI+ stuff. Do i need the GDi Wrapper DLL to fix this error?

I guess i dont need to update this anymore then I was feeling bad that i havn't been keeping up with your changes.

It will always be "pRofit's SkinEditor" that made it easy for us to modify a skin to individual preferences; and most important to learn about the inner workings of a skin. For me at least, only after starting to use SkinEditor is when things became clear. Thanks for this outstanding program.
P.S. There is still one feature missing that would make it perfect - C&P

The updated version makes it easy to line-up labels and stuff using the background Thanks Guino!

Just make sure the GDIPlusWrapper that comes with RR is registered and you should not get this error. I simply updated the code to always use GDI+ (which works with stardard files and PNG files) -- the source is also available in my site in any case.
