I have just been inform by John of this bug and will take a look at it when I get a chance.
Easy work around for now is to put those lines in an INC file and then they wont be lost...
The /POS commands are also lost on skin save...
Hey, blue, I took some time off from the forums for a while and I'm back, so forgive me if it's been said before, but when I edit my skin in v0.5, v0.6, or v0.71 and then load rr, I have to go back through my buttons to redefine the font color. It seems that the skin editor doesn't like to save the /DEFINE commands when the skin is saved.
Any info on this?

So I cant help but notice that the mirror on page one is down, its been like this for a few days too. Is there another mirror that I can get it from?
Also I'm more then willing to put it up on my site as a mirror. I think my cap is at 800kB/s atm but I do not know for sure. Either way I don't have much down time and its on a fast connection because its sitting at the isp I do consulting work for. PM me if you want it.

The issue I had was I was saving the variables to a *.skin rather than a *.txt. So when RRskineditor would load the skin, it would change the first two lines to the defualt "media car skin" header and whatever was there was erased when the whole skin was saved (which was usually the commands, unless there were more than two.) To get around this, just have any variable needing to be defined with the /DEFINE command save to a *.txt file, and whatever skin needs those variables just put the INC line in that skin referencing the *.txt.
With the .071 version, a skin with a *.skin file that doesn't have the headers though will spit back the subscript error and will load the skin but not allow changes to be saved.
I'm not having the issue with the /POS commands though, they work just fine.
Edit; oh, and sometimes when I exit, it asks me to save, then asks if I want to exit, then asks again if I want to save and then will finally close. Not every time though.

What other dependencies does this proggy have? I don't want to load RoadRunner on this machine just to get the dependencies. I've registered gdipluswrapper.dll and richtx32.ocx. I'm still getting an activex component can't create object error. What others are there? I've loaded the VB runtime sp5 and 6 just to see if it was one of those. I'm guessing it's something tied to RR.
EDIT: welp, figured out part of my problem. gdipluswrapper.dll that I had found was too old. Using the one that comes with RR fixed the activex component error. Now it's complaining about a missing comdlg32.ocx.
EDIT2: Ok, for future reference, this program can be started without RR installed. Need to grab comdlg32.ocx and gdipluswrapper.dll off of the comp you have RR installed on, and copy and register to the comp you plan on using Skin Editor on.
EDIT3: Ah! Invalid procedure call trying to open a skin... do i really NEED to have RR installed?? Shoot...
Um no, but you do need to be selecting a folder that has a valid skin in it.
And for future easyness, I have made an installer that now includes all needed files, for people that might want to run the editor on a machine that does not have RR installed.

I would assume it's valid... if it works with RR does that mean it's a valid skin? Maybe I should pull the BMV2 skin from my install and test.
EDIT: Tested with BMV2 skin. Still invalid procedure call. Going to try your stand-alone installer right now.
