are you sure the skin folder you're pointing to has the skin files installed? Meaning its not just an empty or parent folder. I've seen this happen before
I'm in the process of trying to move over from CF to RideRunner
Now RR has installed fine - so the frst thing I did was to change the skin, so I changed to the 'simplistique' skin,,,,all good!
I keep looking for other skins and came across digital FX 4.0 and igoBMW transparent........I installed these into the proper folders and I'm able to select them from within RRconfig.....the also show up in the preview check with RRconfig, but when I load up RR all I get is the load screen of the skin for a second then this error:
"does not contain a valid skin! check your settings and try again. Details in debug.txt"
I've re-installed RR a couple of times but no joy. any pointers guys
yeah I think so....there ar e86 files in both the zip for this skin and in the skins folder on my c: drive
prt screen of the igoBMW folder on my hard drive:
re-checked things....all 'seems' fine - and if I switch to carwings skin ....it works. I'm obviously doing something wrong....may try a diff computer
Normally the only reasons for an invalid skin error are general.ini or menu.skin not being there or being corrupt.
So check those files, open them in notepad to check them.
It could be some sort of error/issue with the menu.skin file.. try using the skin switch function within RR to see if it loads.. in any case I'll try to download the igobmw skin and try it myself to see..
Looking at the screen shot, it also looks like an older installer may have been used? I thought RR now installed default to c:/Program Files/Ride Runner/ now, not "Road Runner".
Maybe this is just an old RR installed, cause I just downloaded the IgoBMW skin, placed in my skins folder and it worked right away, both switching inside RR and starting up RR directly into it.
