Yes that can be easily changed. I just put no guesture areas around the screen except those areas.

It's very controlled at the moment just because i'm still figuring out the best way to integrate this into skins. The code is actually very simple and i wonder why I haven't seen this done before.

    Just a thought to consider:

Could this be setup so the first swipe pulls up the appropriate menu, then the next swipe toggles through the options, and after say 3 second of no input the skin changes to the selected screen? I think it would be so much cooler if the swipes only toggled thru the menus and after a designated time of no input, it would then switch to the highlighted item. You would probably need to add a "CANCEL" menu option in all menus, so if you change your mind it would remain on the current screen after the timeout.

Hmm, that's an interesting idea GizmoQ. I was actually playing around with a similar idea, but reading your post has given me a refinement I want to explore further. Thanks!

    Very cool idea.

One thing that I've noticed they do on the iPhone app store is that you scroll down vertically to read about the app and when you get to the screenshots, you can sweep right to left to see one after the other.

An idea for this skin would be to allow right/left or left/right sweeps take you to the main functions and if you wanted to see the options, you would sweep up/down.

If you did this, I'd always have a 'home' menu button or area you could touch to get back quickly.

Currently, I have predefined groups and predefined pages in a locked order. In the final release, I hope to make these user definable and enable the user to make custom groups. That's the goal at least...

    - An idea for this skin would be to allow right/left or left/right sweeps take you to the main functions and if you wanted to see the options, you would sweep up/down.

I thought about this earlier as well, but sliders on certain screens kept interfering. The hard part is that instinctively people want to swipe in the middle of the screen and unfortunately sliders, ilists, playlists, etc. can interfere with that. I realize you can put NG areas around sliders, but when a playlist takes up most of the screen, I just can't put a NG area on that since it defeats the purpose of the swiping motion.

Keep the comments coming! I think i've come up with at least 3 different approaches from all of your comments...

I don't suppose there is an indicator for gestureson / guesturesoff is there? Just making sure before I define a custom one.

So I will probably release an alpha of the version you see in the above posts, just so you guys can give opinions on the sweeping gesture. A lot of the skins and functions are not available, and are instead have a fake skin to hold it's place.

I have already begun working on a newer version where I now just have one gesture area instead of two, and i made it bigger.

This function is SOOOOOOOOOOO nice! Love it! But I did not notice this before installing OS 3.0 on my iPhone.. They used to have "click for screens" type of function. Like Cydia still got it.
