DFx4.0 Weather issues?

I've been using the DigitalFx skin for 2 or 3 years now and I've noticed something lately that may or may not have always been a problem. The weather button works great for getting the forecast for the area I'm driving through, but the "satellite" button that shows the weather map for the lower 48 plays the same looping image, it never updates. And now that I've got tethering with my 3g phone and can use this on long road trips, that view would the most useful of all. Either no one else has had this issue, or more likely, I fail at the search function

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong with the config and what I need to change to get that map to update and be useful?

The weather is now a plugin that is installed as an option as part of RideRunner. It has been for several months. That being said, I don't think any of the weather functions would work unless you have installed the plugin. Unless you are using an old un-updated version of RR. If that is the case I am sure that the first thing that you would be told, is to update to the latest version or RR and check the weather box in the install options.
