+1 is this possible? I'm having issues with media and songs displaying in dfx. I had to add them to a playlist before they would display.
I recently installed DFX 5.1 and had it scan my entire music collection (3,000 +). I was playing around with it wondering what to expect and ran into a few problems:
- It only scanned 1,888 songs.
- Some folders have songs and more folders, it only displays the folders when I click on them and not the songs when I open a folder.
- Where is the button to play (open) a song when I click on it in the left song list menu? The play button at the bottom just pauses and resumes the current song playing. (Double clicking on it works, but that's not an option when in the car.)
Is there a way to get a simple folder/directory interface with play/pause buttons like Winamp? I have my music organized into a folder structure where all songs by a certain artist is in one folder, then another artist is in another folder, then one folder has a lot of different artists.
Also, is it possible to list shortcuts in the song menu?

"Did you test it in carwings??"
Sun, Come shine my way
May healing waters bury all my pain
Wind, Carry me home
The fabric of reality is tearing apart
The piece of me that died
Will return To live again
even in classic view it seems to want everything in a playlist first. Is there some trick to getting the ID3 tags formatted properly? I updated a few clean ones to test and they still won't display correctly in carwings or dfx.
Ive been having a LOT of trouble getting that DB to work correctly. For whatever reason it hangs on the "Querying Database.." and no information ever appears. This error does not happen however on my desktop. So many because my Netbook is underpowered? IDk. It never populates even if I let it sit for hours

There are several ID3 tag editing programs out there, but my two personal favorites are MusicBrainz Picard and MP3Tag. MusicBrainz Picard has its own database which references the song whose tags your editing to the appropriate information. It's not perfect, but it's very handy when you have over 1,000 songs in need of cleaning up.

"There are no bugs - only undocumented features."
haha I found the problem, RR has to be configured to actually use Id3 tags. No idea why it isn't default, the winamp auto tag function has a much better track record for me than picard, it only missed 100 out of 2800 songs. It was just the time to inspect each and every one to make sure it was correct that was insanely time consuming. I used tag&rename to manually clean up mass numbers easily, like setting the genera to hundreds at once.
