Thread: DFX and Navigator 11 free

ok, i think i figured out how to explain this

i dont think nav 11 is fully embedded into dfx, when i click on a button for volume, the windows focus goes to RR and nav 11 is running behind RR, how do i keep this from happening, if i click on the navigator box in the windows task bar it come back to the front

I understood what you are talking about in the first post. I think this was also discussed in the dfx thread some weeks back. The reason is that rr is not properly embedding the gps window

Just what I thought. Any ideas on where I should look to fix it or is it a known issue and I need to find another nav program. I was using nav 11 cause its free and I'm cheap

RR does properlly embedd the PC Navigator 11
starting from RR 9/1/2012 there is support for it, including the settings in RRConfig, which are slightly complicated

the DFX skin, PC Navigator isnt offically supported... at least not that i noticed, not yet at least

to see it work, set it up in RRCONIFG...
and use the "GPS" command to start
not any existing button
that will load "external_gps.skin"
and embedd pcnav, course none of the functions will do anything, and dont push toggle layout, that will leave this screen
the dfx5 developers if they choose can support pcnav 11

im going to try to parent pcnav window to rr... but this isnt going help you
with it in DFX5

but a dirty way, since RR screen, a background of dfx is underneath the navigator, clip it out...

add

C,73,0,654,602,

to DFX's "external_gps.skin"

ok, i dont quite understand those directions, is that to get it in DFX, i need more plain englis, as i am not a programmer and new to all this..

even tho i dont understan them YET, as i have ALOT more learning to do, i do thank you for taking the time to post them, and i do appreciate RR and all the great work you have done on it!!!

well, without a lot of skin work, since the dfx5 skin, is made for iguiance....

but if u want simple.. edit the external_gps.skin
add the line
C,73,0,654,602,
to then end of it
then use "GPS" command to start it

if you dont follow, best wait for DFX5 to offically support PCNavigator11 (and i dont know if its in the plans)

I undetsood all of that except the use gps command to start it.

"GPS" is a core RR command, to send it to rr... just use skintool

or even when RR is running type "GPS" with the qoutes! while at the menu...

im just saying i dont know if u can use any dfx menu, unless you can customize one to run the simple "GPS" command

Thanks a lot mitchjs, you have been a great help, it. Was working great last night before windows updates, but now nothing works, I am uninstalling updates and hope I don't need to do a fresh install
