I'll not get to Phoco until I'm done with radio.. what exactly of the cunergy 600 are you implementing ? I'm planning to add D-Link and Radiator support in RR (Radiator supports the Cinergy 600 for radio). If you are/going to work on this, please just make sure to make separate modules (.bas) files for whatever you add (so we can mearge the code easily later). I also recommend to mark (say add a '*****PHOCO to everything you added/changed so we can merge the code later.. I make way too many changes all the time so chances are that when you're done, we'll have a hard time merging everything (IF we're not organized).

Holistic: Thanks, but I can't compare with you... I've a few good ideas and a little knowledge of graphics, no more. Keep doing that kind of skins, it's a good thing for RR.
hematec: Thanks. We're open to all suggestions. When the first version will be ready, we want to ear the users' opinions and change wathever you want.
Maybe someone could help him with the logo's and the flash, I wish I could, but I know i can't
Don't worry Phythorian, we've a professional designer working on it.

i'm trying to acces the radio card using the radio_io.dll provided by terratec.
so i could use all the functions of this card such as rds. i've even heard that the rds decoder supports tmc and AF(alternativ frequency).
basicly i'm trying to put everything in a .bas file and write the needed informations in public variables. but i've had to do some changes in the touchlist control to update the (->made the sub showlist public) to write for example the phonebook to a screen.
the implementation of phoco is pretty easy through the phoco remote interface.
all that is to be done is to send a xml string to phoco, informations are sent back also as a xml string.
i think the most work has to be done by you by adding the controls to the modroadrunner.bas and of course by the skinners of you

This sounds cool.. The showlist doesn't have to be a public sub because "centerlist" is public (and has the same effect).

When you're done testing, send me what you've got and I'll definetely work on it..

    great

a bit out of thread, i know, but please hematec keep on. there are a lot of Cinergy 600 users out there (without too much programming skills) that will be very happy if u can do what u're planning about this card!

How about PNG? It implements same range of compression like JPG, its optimal for high color images and it implemets the transparency correctly (unlike hacking JPGs)

Yes, we've spoken about that previously, the problem is VB has not native support for PNGs, and there're a lot of more important things to do first. But I'd like to see Road Runner using PNG graphics too: transparency, good compression and better quality than JPGs.

I have honestly researched on this. I have yet to find a free and fast PNG control/class/module for VB. In any case, I do have ways of making tranaparent images (if I need to) with lossless formats (GIF/BMP). What I still don't understand the "need" of having anything transparent in RR. Give me a use for it and I'll think about it. The PNG compressing is nice all right, but with more compression more CPU/Speed issues arise as well. As they say in KY: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
