I don't have any idea of what that patch you have has or does, but to get the skin in 640x480, you should do just the below:
-Delete the current brushmetal skin you have "patched"
-Download/Install the Brushmetal skin from my site
-Open the GENERAL.INI file in the skin's folder and change the Showwidth and showheight to 640 and 480 respectively.
-Load RR normally, it should display the skin in 640x480.

You can do this with any skin. If you try to patch up skins with files of incorrect size, chances are you'll just screw the skin up.

The only option to make it look perfect in 640x480 is to resize all images say in photoshop (high quality) then edit all .skin files to set the correct areas.. I think that the update you got is basically for fixing the .skin files ONLY.. there's a whole thread on this, so I'd suggest you search on it a bit..

Mine displays about 100pixels right and about 100pixels down from top left when I set show to values at 640x480 when using 800x600 skin and setting the top left corner as 0,0 or -100,-100 doesn't move it.

I would like to move to 640x480 as my Lilli is super sharp at that res and poo at 800x600. And my Insight P4 doesn't do 800x480 - shock horror!

Any ideas?

show me your general.ini and a screenshot. This has always worked dated far back to "remediacar". Chances are you just haven't set the screen SIZE correctly.. the positions should be 0,0 (typically).. for size you should have:

showwidth=640
showheight=480

if that was the case it would display RR fine as its an 800x600 skin

honestly I can almost guarantee you that the general.ini file above is not for the skin you're using .. your screen shot proves it because the size of RR's skin is still 800x600 on it. There's one general.ini file for EACH skin -- and it MUST be in the skin's folder. I also recommend taking off the stupid "hide known extensions" options from your windows folders to be sure you have the right file name.
