    Large Text/Buttons Skin?

    Hi all,

I've been using Media Engine for the last year or so, which I've found to be brilliant, but Road Runner is looking better and better. I've had a play with it on my desktop and the functionality is perfect, so I put it onto the CarPC.

It's brilliant, but with the current selection of skins I've found it's just a bit fiddley to use while on the move, something I found remarkably (suprisingly!) easy with Media Engine. Does anyone know of a skin with nice large buttons and large text in the queue/playlist view?

If there's not one about (although Prindles one looks like it might fit the bill, if I can shoehorn Destinator into it!), how easy is it to begin skinning? I'm ok with Photoshop and stuff, but never actually done any skinning in the past...

    Any thoughts?

You can use any MediaCar skin with Road Runner -- the older skins have bigger buttons in general (because there are fewer options). The Alpine skin has fairly big buttons in general.. The original Brushmetal skins do too..

To make/modify skins you just need a skin editor tool on my site.. it is open source too. It lets you add/change objects with ease.. all you need is the images .. you can get original PSDs at febsperanza's site (link on my site).. then modify to your liking. MediaEngine has pretty big buttons (uncommon to most front ends), you can make buttons of any size in RR.. but since you'll probably run out of space, you'll need to make some "popup" menus to access some features (MediaEngine basically always shows popups -- they just don't look like menus).

Thanks for the reply, Guino. I've had an experiment with the skin editor now and bumped up the font size on the BrushMetal skin, it makes it much easier to use on the move. Great work on this product, it's truly fantastic!!
