slider problem

Is there a possibilety to have more then the standart 21 slider graphics for the sliders, especialy the SONGPOS, VIDEOPOS and VOLUME slider... my problem is my slider is 560px lang so it makes steps of 28px and that looks ****y! would like to have it some more "fluently"....

Not sure if this will intrest you, but you can do really "fluent" things in flash. (At least with volume) However, I don't think you can do it with sliders because they don't send out variables.

You can use the TRACKTIME and CURRENTTRACKTIME variables in flash to calculate the position of song/video ... for the volume there's also a variable.. there's currently no variables for most of the other sliders, but it would be easy to add them...

Regarding the steps, I just made them the same as in MediaCar (compatibility).. but I could easily add a parameter into the slider style definition to set the number of steps to use with the slider (allowing you to use any number of images)... I still have to improve on the drawing of the background to (hopefully) get rid of flickering -- I have done a lot of research for this but VB sucks ...

sorry to bring bad a dead thread. but, how would i go about doing something like this? i understand what you are saying here, i just lack the flash knowledge to know how to actually put two and two together and do it. help?

Both Dinasty and CDR have done this in their flash skins, You can probably ask a little help from them.

k, checked out the link. i read through the code and i understand what all of it does. i just dont know what to do next. like how to use this.. i get that frame will = a number 1-100 corresponding to song progress, but whats next?

please excuse my *lack* of knowledge in flash

It's probably best if you see it for yourself. I will through something together for you tonight and post it here to show you how it works and also the code to set the position of the song ect..

thanks. ive been messin around with it for the past 2½ hours and i cant get it lol. but ill keep tryin

EDIT: also, is there a way to make a swf go over (instead of under) a playlist? or can i actually embed the playlist in the swf and just layer it underneath?
