I just got through testing on the highway today and the results were pretty good. I have a flash movie monitoring the "GPSSPD" label in RR and sending VOL+/VOL- commands to RoadRunner depending on what speed your at. I have it set to increase the volume by 30% when you hit 55mph and to decrease 30% when you go below 45mph. Because many cars have different amounts of road noise I would like to know what speeds/volume levels you guys would recommend so I can offer some different options.

I've mentioned this option a while a go on this forum, just to know if it was possible, but seems to be a bit of a problem.
So it's really great to see you got it working

I guess every car has a different noise and acoustic, so this feature should be configurable somewhere in RR, so everyone could experiment with it, to get the right in- decrease of volume in their own car.
    Finished!
    pc 99% - install 100% - audio 100%

this feature should be configurable somewhere in RR
For now, I’m trying to make a button in RR to enable/disable it. As far as configuring goes, I will probably just include a few .swf's with different speed/volume settings so the user can choose from those. I also changed it a little so it raises and lowers the volume more gradually (one VOL command per second). I just tested it and the change is hardly noticeable

If you released a version we could try out the volume increase/decrease

    Here, try this one out...

You must add the following to whatever .skin you will be using while driving:
    • L,0,0,0,0,,,,,,"GPSSPD",
    • F,0,0,10,10,"SSV.swf"

Add this to your skin folder

Also, Map Monkey must be running in order for this to work.
    Remember to buckle up

Anyone else try/have problems with it?

I found that you have to be on the screen that you placed the flash movie into. For example, if you added the GPSSPD label and flash movie into your audio player skin, you must be on that screen for it to work. Kinda sucks huh? I think this feature would be great, but it's better off in the form of a plugin or acutaly built into the software. I will still include it on the audio player skin of iRunner though.
