    Photoshop skinning question

I'm creating a skin in PS/CS2 and I have each button on it's own layer (so I can move them around easily). I've setup a layer effect of "outer glow" on the buttons that I want to show when I save the xxx_ON.jpg image. The problem is that whenever I edit the psd, I have to change every layer's effect manually in order to be able to save the ON and OFF versions of the jpg. How do you pro skinners handle this in PS? Is there some sort of global style change command?

Just link all of the layers you want to change effect together, then select one of them, change the layer to what you want, hit "Copy Layer style", then hit "Paste Layer Style to Linked" ... at least that's how I do it...

Can I have multiple links for different purposes? Right now I have three layers for each button: the actual button image, the icon on top of the image, the text associated with the icon. I link the three together so that when I move the button, then the text and icon follow it. Are most skinners just merging the icons/text onto the button in the psd?

Well, I make links while editing, then when I'm done, I make the links grouping the effects I want to handle.. A lot of people just save PSDs with the different ON/OFF/DOWN effects (3 PSDs) just so they can move/link things at will... I don't know of any way to save/restore any linked objects etc.. You can group objects together for easy linking but that's as far as I know ...

PS: I am no PS expert either..
