SimpleSkin, Feedback Appreciated...

Hey all,

I'm working on a new skin for RR. I am also concentrating on keeping the interface clutter-free and simple. The goal is to make it part of a total "PC" skin, changing as much of windows as I can to match the overall theme of the skin. Buttons need to be large so they are easy to use in car. I want all the RR options to be available, but not visible on main menus...how often does one need to tweak EQ settings or change a skin? These will all be in a seperate "config" skin".

For now I've only got a few test screens done. It should be noted that I am not a graphic designer, so there are probably a lot of "rough edges", so feel free to point those out

I plan to add at least XM, and probably PHOCO in the future, but for now those are the screens I'm going to work on in RR. For a name, I was thinking something like "SimpleSkin" or SimplyBlue". A simple name to match the theme of the skin.

I'm also working on a Windows XP Boot screen, Shutdown screen, etc, which I hope to keep looking similar to this.

I would be intrested to see how your total "PC" idea comes along. Could you post a screenshot of your desktop when you get a chance?

As for the skin, I would recommend using more colors or brighter colors to accent the important stuff. With the large buttons and simple layout, I think some extra color wouldn't make it cluttered. The only other thing I would add is to make the text of your buttons labels so that people can change the font if needed.
