Okay, so.......if i move it back to left click. Everyone will be happy? Since the only reason i did that was sometimes you select something and it will move on you. And now you can lock objects, so that should help. Maybe I will add left or right click to the settings area and default it to left click. Everyone likes options anyways.

Comming down with cold or something, so i will probably be up all night. Any bugs you see let me know and i may have time to fix them tonight.

What i want to do is get back to my quicktype program. Need to get a usable version finished.

great work profit. Only other real feature now lacking is the drop down list for the select skin menu to be better.

A feature I and im sure others would love to see is a change to the Screens Drop down list. Instead of One giant menu that scrolls it would be better if it was multiple Menu's Side by Side, both open at once, Like the windows start button. That way you wont have to spend forever and a day trying to get to a skin on the bottom. I spent alot of time just scrolling up and down to get to different skins. Another Option is to take the Windows Vista Start Button Approach.

I dont know if that type of capability is available in a vb6 ocx or not.

Road Runner Skin Editor Suggestions and fixes

Yea, that is one annoyance for sure! That little tiny arrow thingy thats hidden till ya move the mouse to the area thats hard to click.....you know.. that one

Even if it's too difficult to do a side by side, possibly a scroll bar, or larger icon that covers the top/bot of the list instead of the 10x10 pixek thing there now. Whatever is easier to code.

I sometimes envy the skins with not many skins that fit on just one screen in the scroll list

Two last things that come to mind:

The width of the editor box that dosent change to the correct size to display the line of button code till you Highlight and copy it.

Possible Font size change pulldown. This may be just sorta specific to me, but I know Liquid smoke also runs at 1920 x 1080 oh his machine. At that resolution, I have to edit the button code in notepad, and paste it back into the button editor dialog box, as it is just too small to read in there.

Hope ya get feeling better soon.

damn at that resolution what skin has that many skins you cant fit on one screen!
You would have to have fonts at size 28 in notepad to read. I think i have it at size 12 or something......If i change the font size then i would probably have to change text box size to fit. Maybe i can look into it.

The drop down list....What do you think has the most skin files in it. So i can have something to use while adjusting the program? All the skins i have fit in one drop down list, and i dont make skins that often.....well okay ive only made 2 but really bad, since my graphics suck!

And what resolution do you guys have this problem in? So i can figure out how to make the columns fit if i do it.

I have my screen set @ 1280x1024 on a 21 inch crt. My eyes started hurting at the max for me 1800 x 1440 ( i think my kvm is the limiting factor on rez, not sure )

    So your current resolution?
What skins fill the screen for you?

And thanks, i still feel like cr4p. I took nyquil and that nocked me out! In fact just woke up about an hour ago

ha, my skin doesn't fit in that drop down list either, im scrolling for days
screen res i use is 1920x1200 and there are 180 .skin files in my skin (lsxvoid) and yes i have my fonts in notepad over 20. For me using a lower res isnt an option, the native resolution of my monitor IS 1920x1200 and any other resolutions have blurring and are not as sharp.

i was gonna ask about that, if something can be done for really long lists like add some scroll bars or something. Speaking of scrollbars, in the virtual editor they are gone now, cant scroll with my mouse wheel anymore either. Also there seems to be some formatting issues in the virtual editor, all the line breaks seem to be gone and everything is one huge block of text.

I like that comments can be added now, ill prob use that on my next skin. Not sure if i like them showing the full comment in the list of objects on the left but its not a huge issue, just need to get used to it.

locking is cool, should come in handy.

one feature i would like is for the directory to look in for skins is a fixed dir, i would like to browse to any dir and load a skin, a lot of times i have skin that are outside of the skin dir in RR that im editing. Being able to browse to these with changing the path to skins would be nice.

some screens that would crash the editor before no longer do. Still need to do some more testing on those though.

so far other than that, nice job on the update

Yeam LS Has me beat for sure when it comes to skin files , I am at just under 100 right now. LS was showing me something other day in chat, and I loaded his skin into the editor, it did just about take me DAYS to scroll down to the bottom of his list! hahahaah

Yea, same here as far as the text, my text editor is set at 17Pt. Trying to read some of the lengthy commands in the editor button properties box is just impossible, especially trying to tell ;'s apart from double Pipe's || ect. For every button with more than a single command, I am right now forced to copy it into my text editor, work on it and paste it back for changes, and from scratch, compose the button code in my text editor, and paste it in to the skin editor.

As for the properties box showing the entire line, the code appears to be somewhat in there. When you open a buttons properties, it is cut off and in a narrow box. If you HOME then Control END and then Control C to copy the dialog box then adjusts to the correct size to fit it all in. So the code is in there, and triggered with a copy command, just now when you open the box.

Yes I noticed the command box not adjusting all the way when you first open it. I can look into that and try and fix it.

Maybe, just maybe i can have like 2 or 3 options for view size. Like small medium and large. Or just Standard and LS Just for the High Def users. Someone asked my last year if i could make it easy to use at 800x600. now you guys want high resolution........

Okay, i looked into side by side menus...There was one setting that might be promising. but i need one of Liquid_Smokes' skins. I tried lsxvoid 2.0 but the install didn't work for me. I guess i will try again tonight. Or i could take a current skin and make "copies of" to get up to 180 skin files. I will see when i get home.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

    new errors!

heres what I did. I removed a bunch of skins from the skin I use. bascially removed all the screens I will never use/dont want (games, Mappoint, destinator .skin files)
Now I get those two errors above!

The first error happens when I first open the skin
the second error happens when i save the skin, Second error also closes/crashes the editor, but it still saves
