I thought it might be a good idea to have a place where people post little tips and tricks that make skinning an easier or more efficient task. I know everyone skins differently than everyone else, but I'm sure that are little things we do to save time that would help others as well. No flaming! If someone posts something in here that doesn't help you, don't flame them.

Here, I'll start:

1. Using layer sets for buttons not only keeps your work organized with fewer layers showing, but you always know where to find certain labels and buttons and it makes manipulating them quite a bit easier too, for instance, you can easily move all the buttons at once to make the _down skin without having to link anything, just highlight layer set and move them.

2. I'm not sure who else skins like this, but I have one folder for development files, IE PSDs. When I finish a screen, or even a part I want to see in action, I use save-as a JPG to the RR skins folder and load RR. The RR skins folder is kind of a pain to navigate to because its pretty deep in my folder structure - C:\programfiles>RoadRunner>Skins>Brushed Orange and my developement folder sits in mydocs. The solution? I simplly put a shortcut to the skins folder right inside my development folder and viola, instant access.

I know this thread is probably gonna fissle and die, but it's worth a shot.
