never heard of that before. Which skin are you using and can you make a screen shot ?
so, I change track position via a pointer. works VERY well.
unfortunately, volume control isnt so easy. clicking a spot doesnt make the volume jump, it kind of eases over. I can live with that. I dont like it, but I can live with that.
my problem is that the slider appears and works just great in the browser menu's. But in the player screens, the slider gif dissapears, and I get no visual feedback.
everything operates as if it were there, but I dont see it.
how do I get it to appear?
trying to make my own.
I am copy and pasting the same settings for all slider bars. I'm running only track status and master volume sliders, thats it. I have integrated them into most screens on the skin.
the slider for track position always works no matter what screen I am in.
the slider for volume control works for audio browser and video browser
the slider for volume control refuses to appear for audio player, video player, and external GPS screens.
to create this skin, I downloaded MC2 and deleted commands I didnt need, and rearranged the position of commands I wanted to keep. the sliders were added.
all other skins I have seen have a series of pictures that are used for volume display as volume increases.
I want my volume control to work identically in every way shape and form to the track position slider.
is it possible?
Sliders should work THE SAME on ANY screen regardless of their function. You should pay attention though cause sliders have 2 different areas, one is a highlight/update area and the other is the clickable area. If you set them wrong, most likely you won't get the intended result. The other thing is making sure that if you're using backstyles, you MUST define the backstyles path BEFORE defining the slider (the Y definition should be ABOVE the S definition that uses that style). Other than that, as long as the files exist, are valid and the path is right, it should work no big deal. If anything, copy the definitions+files from another skin into yours and you'll see that it works.
wow, you were right. the "style" values and "h2" values were not identical, and it works like a champ now.
but there is a huge huge issue now. I've just noticed a big problem with volume control in general.
it was set to master volume. every time I toggled a master volume control, it would unmute my line in and microphone. very VERY bad! totally unacceptable.
for the slider, its not a big deal. I was able to set that to wave volume control.
but the volume up and down commands? they still control master volume. and the controls dont seem to be settable to just wave.
or can they?
and if they cant, and I am forced to JUST use the slider bar, is there any way I can make it jump, so if its at 0 and I touch around the 70% mark, it just gives me the volume I want? as it is now, I have to hold my finger on my screen for days waiting for the volume to scroll up.
you can make buttons to control any audio line: vol+/- and mute all can work with parameters -- check skin commands.txt.
Some cards will mute/unmute more than one line when you mute/unmute the master volume, RR will not attempt to do anything like that. Most cards though, will revert the mute state of those other lines to what it was before muting the master.
bumping the thread because ive run into the same brick wall.
Tried to make a seperate skin to load on top of video player. VIDEOPOS slider in the second skin wont work. Stays in the middle of the slider. I can still use it to jump around. but doesnt move the slider.gif around to match the track play time. Because of this i removed the video controls from the second skin. course now volume popup skin i created loads, but the video controls auto hide. without putting a exit command somewhere on my volume skin theres no way out.
In any case, the ONLY thing I care about truly is volume control.
Volume also having the same problem as above. IE I cant jump to a specific volume. If I wanted volume 50% i have to touch the slider like 40 times. You can sort of click and drag the slider.gif around but it doesnt work all the time.
can be done in flash, but im probably going to just scrap my current ideas
