4WD Skin

I don’t want to release the skin until I have finished it, but I have zipped up the traffic skin and scripts so you can have a bit of a play.

Because some of the paths are hard coded in the autoscript files you will have to unzip the 4WD directory under C:\Program Files\Road Runner\SKINS (Iwill fix this later)

The source file for the autoit .exe are provided as well

The menu skin is just a 2 button skin one to call the traffic skin and the other to exit RR so you can have a play.

On the Traffic skin the auto refresh button starts the auto update from the web, I cant get the switch button command to then stop the auto update so after you start auto update it will continue to run just end the task.

If you have any suggestions on how to make it better I would be interested.

Because I am spending all my time working on the skin I don’t have time to do any instructions

I have just done the FreeDrive screen and one menu, I might have to spend some time finding a good LCD font I am not really happy with the one I am using. Also I will probably change the fancy Menu font back to the Arial which is what I used on the first screens; I don’t want to have 2 different fonts.

Any comments…..

I see a few members have DL the traffic.zip
I worked out what the problem with starting and stopping auto update.

Have a look in Traffic.skin
Change both the 2 occurrences of SWITCHBUTTON;7

To SWITCHBUTTON;8

It is a shame it took this long only to find out I cant count.

I have it working quite well with skinbedder, and map the main ozi commands I need to function keys (all part of Ozi), and then just get the button on my RR skin to call the function key

I also did a killozi Autoit script to kill the ozi task if required

Are you interested I the 4WD skin or just the scripts for the traffic stuff so you can use them in one of your skins

I have sent a PSD file to Tissy to make me a compass for the LCD in Flash so I don’t have to use compass.exe.

Should get that back from him soon.

But most of my time has been doing 2 FreeDrive skins to match the brushed aluminium and brushed metal RR skins

If you can use it here is a link to a simple compass I made up after reading how it's done on these forums & then playing in swishmax for a while and some screenshots of it in action. I am sure there is a better way to do what i've done but i've never designed anything in flash before & it works ok for me.

AshG - Just putting my name down for the Traffic Cam app... I'd be happy to have a quick look as I'm up on Autoit scripts plus I have a sumular need but for traffic maps from the web.

Currently I use Mobileweb but that seems quite good for skining and intergration with RR.
