Thread: Pure Skin

Well I've been working on this skin for a while now and I think it is finally is a usable condition. I call it Pure. There are still a few things to be done - mainly the radio shark skin, but other than that it is ready to go. I'd love to hear constructive suggestions and feedback on this one! Enjoy!

Here are my current notes on the skin, detailing how to make some things work and stuff:

This skin is called Pure. It was inspired by BTBE's "Mac v2" skin, but made to my liking. I tend to like screens with a lot of info available and maximum control. Hence, one can control audio playback from nearly every screen in the skin. Further, nearly every screen displays GPS info, temperature, full info on the currently playing song, online status, etc. The skin itself is designed to have a simple, pure, pc-ish look. Enjoy!

NOTES:

-This skin is really customized for me and therefore does not include the features I do not use. For example, you'll notice that there is no PhoCo support because PhoCo does not work with my setup (I have a CDMA Treo and PhoCo does not support CDMA from what I can tell). If/When I add these features, I'll update, but feel free to add anything and send it to me and I'll incorporate your changes with the skin (unless I don't like them or something)!

-Radio support is coming (radio shark). This is the only thing I have not yet finished, but I have a Radioshark and I need to get it installed before I work on the skin.

-I've included the XCF files so you can edit whatever you want. I used Gimp to create and edit the whole thing so you'll need Gimp (open source, free) to change stuff.

-To make sure the weather loads immediately in the opening screen at Roadrunner Startup, you'll need to add the following command to execute at startup (either through RRConfig or in RR.ini). If you want, you can also set it to reload the weather on Resume from Standby, (if applicable), when becoming online, or whenever else in ExecTBL.ini:
RELOADWEATHER

-Make sure any Executable files (like my included calcalc.exe) are in the root of the RR folder. If not, edit the path to those apps in the skin itself.

-This code is needed in rr.ini to make sure calcalc.exe and any other program is closed when RR is closed:
closeapps=true

-if you want the full screen buttons to work on the GPS and Web Browser skins, you might need to change the code for those buttons on the external_gps.skin and wbrowsser.skin files. Change the LOAD command - it is in this format:
"LOAD;<skin file name>;<window title of program to embed>;<path to program to embed>;<tooltip>"

-My VW emblem is visible whenever album art is not visible. Feel free to edit the JPG files here with your own emblem.
