Thread: ok skip check out this skin

It looks neat. Here are my suggestions:
- move the play button to the middle of the top left graphic, basically switch it with the pause button
- make the word "volume" be the actuall slider for the volume control
- song and title maybe should not be angled
- put a cool clock or round album art in the space on the bottom left

Looks clean and I like the colors. Good start, keep at it...

nice start.. buttons need bigger and car center doesnt really make sense to me

the first thing i would do is figure out a nice layout of all the functions etc, before you start makng any graphics. It will save you a ton of time experimenting and you will be more likey to keep using the skin a lot longer then if you just wing it. Useablitly is far more important than cool looking graphics, and when you have both you have something thats gonna stick around for a while.

not yet, want to have atleast all the basic functions working before i release it..

I now got the main menu, audio and video section working...

i'll keep here an update on the work...

well the play buttons are too close together and youll have to really look at it to make sure you dont click the other buttons, esp the pause. The other buttons are a tad small, but you may be able to get by with it. There is a lot of wasted space on the left and right and dosent really add to the coolness to have it empty. The buttons get smaller and smaller as you go from top to bottom, with the buttons on the bottom being really small. The area for the song title is also too small and you prob wont fit 95% of song titles in that space.
I dont see any way to change the volume, the slider area is also too small to really click.

You can make a ui functional first and cool looking later,(itll save u alot of time also) the other way around is just an accident waiting to happen. Its like writeing the greatest novel ever written, but the text is so small no one can read it.

Trust me, useability should come first! Esp for a something your gonna use while driveing. Dont think of form follows function as a restriction.
