Cant load up!

i cant load up road runner everytime i try it says no valid skin.... whats up with this please help a noobie out

When you first install rr, you also have to copy over a skin. I put my skins in a directory off road runner ie

c:\Road Runner\skins\myskin

Then you need to fire up rrconfig.exe in the Road Runner directory, and set the options you want. One of the first options is the day skin and the night skin. These need to be pointed at the directory that contains the skin files. Once this is done, the skin should fire up when you start RR.

where to download valid skins... since it keeps saying when it loads no valid skin... its wierd

You already have a valid skin but not the 1 its looking for,I think the BMV2 skin is still bundled with the installer.
Open RRConfig and select skin path then navigate to C:\Program Files\Road Runner\skins\BMV2.

That should sort it,if that fails go here http://www.rrdownloads.net/

Go to the link above and download skins fom there,if you don't have Winrar = go get it now! (you can google it).

Download a skin and and right click the file,click on EXTRACT ALL,cut the resulting file from where you extracted it to and paste it to C:\Program Files\Road Runner\skins.

You can now select it from RRConfig,like before with BMV2.

this is wierd. i can get the BVM2 skin to work, and the Triton skin to work with no problems. but others i can. For instance the LSX skin. i choose it the same way as i do with the other workin skins, but when i start road runner it still gives me the the error about not containing a valid skit. also, the triton skin has an option to scroll through your other skins and switch if youd like to (great feature!) but out of the 6 skins i have, only triton and bvm2 will display a preview. That makes me think that there is something missing in those files. any help?

i answered my own question. hopefully this will help out others as confused i was was. Each skin is created by a different person (for the mostpart) and some skins are available for more than one front end. Just by choosing the file that was extracted from the zip might not work since it could have the files RR is looking for deeper into it. For instance: the LSX skin, for me to get it to work with road runner, i had to choose the folder that was extracted, open it, open skinpackupdate1, then skinpack, then choose roadrunner. then viola!! working skin. or for chucks skin, its: extracted file, then program file, then road runner file. I was under the false assumption that all files were set up in a standard way. Hopefully this helps some other confused newbies out there who search for: does not contain a valid skin.
