Thread: Astro (In Progress)

I really like this skin- just some quick feedback/questions:

1. IG3 looks fantastic with the way you have embedded it in this skin. However, when I try to go to full screen mode after switching back and forth to, say, the audio player, another instance of iGlaunch (and thus iGuidance) is launched. I ended up with like 4 or 5 instances running! (It also appears that instances after the 1st one do not have access to the COM port so they're useless for navigating) It's of course possible I just have something setup wrong, or it may be a bug. This seems to be the biggest problem I have.

2. IG3 has a built-in trip computer and some other goodies. While the embedding looks great with the menu bar gone, it unfortunately takes that with it. Since I use a touchscreen only, it's pretty tough to enter keyboard shortcuts. Think it would be possible to set up a button (hidden?) that would allow access to that and maybe even the other 'menu-bar- features' or something?

3. In the video player screen, I can't seem to find any way to back out of a directory once I get into it. For example, my video folder has 2 folders in it- one for music videos and one for movies/tv for my passenger to watch. If I go into the music video folder, I can't figure out how to back up to the screen that allows me to switch to the tv folder.

4. Also in the video player- there's a skip fwd (within a video) button but no 'next video' button. That would be really nice to have.

5. I know you said you had no plans for a web browser skin, but also that you'd consider doing one if people wanted it. I am officially making my polite request here for that

OK, that's about it. I really like this skin so far and if I can figure out the nav screen problem will try to use it for a 200 mile road trip later today.

I did have an issue with starting it though. I edited the main skin as instructed and created a button where the album image shows to invoke the new visu.skin.

That worked and brought it up but Milkdrop did not start. So, I edited the visu.skin as follows:

I rearranged the Bxx entries (because I'm a neat freak?) and added another B00 to the same area that the album was. Basically, I press it twice and then Milkdrop starts.

Second: I fixed the soft cut command (B02 above) to remove the extra quotes so that now worked.

Third, the scroll lock keypress looked wrong so I modified B01 above as well to make it match the other Milkdrop buttons but neither this or the original would lock/unlock the current visualization. Is the {SCROLLLOCK} the correct key command in the skin to pass a real Scroll-Lock key press?

And finally, is there a way on the main player screen to both call Visu.skin and also invoke Milkdrop at the same time so I can eliminate B00 above?

John, download the updated version in the first post. There is a new audio player with a VISU button on it. When clicked the visu skin is loaded and visu starts. Make sure you have the plugin configured in winamp.
Thanks for the spacebar fix. I looked up the send key commands and it says SCROLLLOCK. Don't know, I will look into it.

Just finished the new Radio Player Skin with working indicators for AM/FM and indication of the frequency MHz/kHz.
Will be in the upgrad this weekend.
