    item ordering

So I'm editing a skin, and I'm trying to put album art on top of a section that normally has a small selection of labels.

Is there a way to arrange the items so that when an album cover for the mp3 is found, the album cover is displayed ON TOP of the labels (purty), rather than having the labels go on top of the album art (not purty).

Here's my .skin file... obviously I've tried arranging the J element and the L elements with respect of each other, to no effect.

    Using RR 8/10/2006.

You need to use the flash file posted in the release thread.. it displays the album art if existent (on top of anything), and is empty (or shows logo.swf if existent), when no album art is present.

OK I've tried using the flash album art...

But now, all of my Label elements under the art.swf have disappeared (they haven't been removed in the code).

Also, button presses on buttons under the flash (when no album art is loaded) are delayed indefinitely until a some other down/hover bitmap (not in that area) is triggered or a different screen is loaded.

umm.. sounds like I'll need to make something to show different info on labels based on indicator states (i.e. if album art exists). Then we can simply blank out the labels and they'll look as if were hidden.

Outside of that, the only thing you could do with the current version is to make the labels in a flash object or blank out the labels by using the "ONSONGSTART" event along with the new BYIND command .. it could get messy though.

Well it's not really that big a deal....the text isn't too distracting. It's just one of those perfectionist deals... the skin editor/code format just somehow gave me the impression that there was some sort of layering/order based on the order in which the code was written.

I'll try blanking the labels out onsongstart, and failing that... give up/wait until you do it

The album art used to be layered on top.. but that was a side effect of using VB controls for drawing the album art. This stuff is long gone now that most of the image drawings is API based for better memory efficience and improved performance. I took the decision to change it based upon the fact that, At the time, it was only a choice between album art and flash logo in the current skins (nothing with text on it).

Ahhh that's what I figured in the back of my head... because I used to use Kuo's skin for a very long period of time, with one very very old build of RR (didn't update for a lonnng time). No wonder it used to work back then.

I've only been updating RR frequently this while since my install is in between cars. Which is what brought up the whole album art issue... being covered by the playlist and text labels. Heck I originally didn't even notice for a while that it disppeared since the original placement was on top of nothing but playlist area.
