I was asked to start this thread by JIT when he was still considering switching to RR. I had just switched from CF to RR and was encouraging him to do the same (and bring his skin along with him). He was looking for an unbiased opinion about his skin. If any RR user honestly wanted the nexus skin (including myself), they could easily re-create it (even from screen-shots if they were very lazy). SMOP = Simple Matter Of Programming. All it takes is time.
There are many talented skinners in the CF forum (even if they don't ever release their skins [besides JIT]) and I just wanted to see what they could do with an RR Skin or better yet a Flash RR Skin. I wish there were a lot more "professional" looking skins, preferably flash skins like Freedom. Don't get me wrong, there are many "cool" skins from the best of the RR skinners, but Nexus is something you could sell to a non-PC-friendly adult as a real car interface without a lot of show, just a clean looking interface with big easy-to-read buttons.
CF is not fully customizable like RR. You have to use SKINbedder if you want to add buttons to embedded apps. You can not change much about how the media-manager works. It does not support MilkDrop vis ;). For these reasons, I am sticking with RR (until I have time to make my own FE based on SKINbedder and RR combined). So the more good skinners we have on the RR side, the better!
PS to JIT: Sorry man, but that amber/orange one is ugly. I think it's just the colors :). You should make like a black/red one for Audi and VW. Those are much better colors.
