    Cool Input fields

    Hi guys,

I want to get around to skinning a better input screen for Infomap Navigator. Is their a way in RR to have a data input field where I can park data, address, postcode etc, and then string it together using Sendkey as the interface mechanism, or do I need to use VB, AutoIT to make it happen ?

    cheers

Something similar is done in the "Map_Point_GPS_Location.skin" , but it is done "behind the scene" and I do not know how. This MAY help point your question to "How is it done on the Map Point skin" and hopefully provide an answer.

The only other way I could think of is to save each field into a variable, then just concat the variables into a single string/variable.

Not too helpful I know, just thinking of ways to approach it......

    Jesus John, I can't keep up !

That was how I was planning on tackling it, but wanted to use RR input fields, with a button at the bottom of the form that concatenated the strings and passed them to the app.

I guess I can use a series of TextBoxes, like on the OSK as input fields to do this with, I've still got can't see the wood for the trees syndrome !

    cheers

Have a look at the RREarth skin -- I did just that.. all you have to do is put a label on top of a button, have the button pull out the OSK to set a variable, display that variable on the label and have it sent out with a command later on. This is how the GE_GETDIRECTIONS function was all built around. Very simple variable use.. you can definitely "concatenate" the variables as parameters when running your application.. "RUN;C:\myapp.exe|$VAR1$$VAR2$" etc..
