Do I have to have all these options?

I am only going to use this for MP3 music and DVD movies, is there a skin to do that or am I stuck having all these options on the opening screen. I just dont want to tell people that get in the car "no, I dont have that, no, it doesnt do that, no it doesnt do that"
now if I could just figure out how to put a computer on the SV.....

well I am trying to think of why using this instead of just a winamp skin would be better, considering RR is just controlling winamp anyways. anyone know why it would be better?

    simple,
1.) using winamp standalone is a pain on a touch screen as the buttons are tiny, sure you can prob click the play buttons ok, but when it comes to navigating your music library etc your likely to crash into someone fooling with those tiny controls.

2.) it looks more professional and not like a hack job, most people dont want to see winamp and the windows desktop on there screen while driveing around.

IMO if all you want is audio and video you are probably a whole lot better just buying some aftermarket unit that can do those, most of the aftermarket gps units also do audio/DVD etc. No point in getting a pc in the car to do just audio/DVD, unless your music lib is so massive that no aftermarket unit will suffice. Alpine and others make pretty nice units.

sorry, I guess I wrote that wrong. the MAIN thing I will be using is audio and video, I'll likely also use streets and trips or something like that, and games of course from time to time. My music library will be sitting at around 20gigs, give or take, and its already on a laptop I have sitting around which only needs a screen and quality audio device, costing me all of $250-$400 for the brains of the system, whereas an alpine would be a grand to start out with, and wouldnt play games, wouldnt hold all my music, would have to have the screen in the dash instead of up around the rearveiw mirror area, and wouldnt be able to be brought inside the house for general computing as well.
the buttons being too small makes sense, even on the modern ones with the scalling up it could be tough.

I have been looking for a simpler skin and I think I have found one.

If you are looking for simple, it is actually VERY easy to create a "main menu skin" yourself. Just use any old paint program, and dray like 2 boxes, GPS and Music for example. Use the skin editor, and just create a button around the area for the button for each one. Would take all of say 10 minutes, even for a someone that has never really skinned before. If you need, I could put something together for you. If you are interested, just PM me.
