    Am I the only one

who finds the RR skin editor impossible to use?

Just creating the buttons takes FOREVER with manually entering the coordinates...

Not to mention that I need to specify 4 image files even when using only 2..

I should mention that I am a dreamweaver kind of guy and not a coder... I don't want to even look at skin text files, etc...

Great... skin editor just crashed trying to save something.

    For crying out loud...

Finally got it to recognize my first simple menu page as a valid skin, but RR crashed with an "overflow" error and made my taskbar invisible...

Why is this so overly complicated? Almost makes me want to shell out for overpriced centrafuse with more features tha I won't use than I will...

If you only have 1 skin file in your skin (menu.skin), RR is more than likely to crash. Why? I don't know exactly why, but I think it has to do with the number of skin for preloading. Preloading is something for faster switch between screen and a setting in RR.ini. Just create some "dummy" skin file and see what happen.

Grab a skin thats already been done, then use this as the base for your new skin.. makes it lots easier

    Ok.. another question

I am designing my skin at 800x600 since this is the resolution I will have my video card set to (doesn't support native xenarc resolution).

How much should I shrink my skins so that they appear normal when my zenarc stretches it out?

Also, when placing my button areas with the skin editor tool, what happens to the clickable area in relation to the image when it is stretched out?

    Thanks!

multiply all vertical values by 1.25

    600/480 = 1.25

so say you want a button on screen to look 100x100 (width by height), in the skin graphics the button would actually be 100 pixels wide x 125 pixels high. In the .skin file, you would make the clickable area the same - 100 pixels by 125 pixels.

So does that mean I can create my skin file exactly how I want it to look in 800x600, then before I save resize it to 800x750?
