i would also be intrested in looking through a rv computer forum, espically getting ideas from pictures.
i noticed you guys have a boat PC forum. how about an RV one? I know of a few people that have been working on extensive RV computer setups, and i myself am looking to delve into this. having a forum for specific questions relating to RV's would be great - the dynamics are different when you introduce generators, 110v AC versus 12v DC, etc, etc...![]()

I support this forum addition! It would be awesome to do an instal in an rv. Located in grand rapids, hit me up
Sounds great how about a Fleet and RV Mobile Computing Forum? I have had requests for fleet computing information as well.

ok - we created two forums, one just for RVs and one for fleets. Moving this thread there. Let me know if there are any threads that should be moved in as well via pm and a link to the thread.
thanks for the suggestion and task completed.

Can we further segment the forums by making subforums for all the vehicle manufacturers and their respective model lines, as well?
Maybe a BigWheel or RadioFlyer subforum?
Yes, I'm being sarcastic.
Honestly, I think this is ridiculous. So is the boat subforum, to be honest.
A 12v PC is a 12v PC whether it's in a car, a truck, a limousine, a bus, RV, boat or alien spacecraft.
Granted, a boat install has some specific issues that land vehicles don't have, namely waterproofing and corrosion prevention. But the electronics and installation is exactly the same.
Segmenting the forum like this only makes things that much more confusing for new users.
By that Arugument DP we should just have one great forum, let's call it 'The Internet' and all threads and internet content should just be put in there.![]()
That right there is why some brilliant code monkey came up with Google.
Seriously, though. What's the point of segmenting out installs based on the type of vehicle? Is an RV install really any different than a passenger car install?
Sure, you might want more functionality and/or automation features in an RV, but PCs in show cars go that route, as well.
So what's your point?
Hell, with the slew of products for this niche market, you can run a PC on your bicycle (or Big Wheel if you're into brightly colored plastic) as long as you have a 12v power source.
Not my point, however I can see theirs.
RV's (hell maybe eve articulated where they use 24Vs) and boats have their own specific issues.
Yes we could lump them all in with the car ones, but why not seperate them where specifics can be addressed with better clarity.
The other way to go is to set up totally different forums for the boats, RV's and atriculateds.
ie
www.boatPC.com
www.RVPC.com
www.ArticPC.com or www.LorryPC.com or www.bigrigpc.com
and have them annexed off mp3car.
