Thread: OziExplorer

We have isolated the error in Ozisave. It was ocurring in the OziExplorer API so it was not a problem I created. The erorr is easilly resolved by downloading the latest version of OziExplorer.

Bugger has been able to fully embed OziExplorer and our OziSave.exe into Skinbedder and has sent me release candidate 1.0 complete with the new skins and installation instructions etc to review. It was working fine for him. I downloaded the latest RR sources and installed a brand new version of RR on my system. I followed Bugger's instructions and it fired up straight away and but SB raised a couple of errors on exit on one of my PC's. The data we want to preserve is saved on hibernate and exit from RR which is really good as it makes the system safe!

As far as I am concerned, this is as good as we can get. Let's not loose sight of the fact that we have achieved what was near impossible, so we might just have to live with this.

We'll just have to wait until Bugger can publish this.

As Rod said, there may still be a few bugs but in general it's quite usable and a good basis for the next version.

Sorry guys... It worked for me when I tested after I uploaded the file but it is definetly dead now... I'll sort it out tonight. I don't have the file at work

can someone tell me what skin to use in RR with this? I know I read it somewhere in this thread, but I'l be buggered if I can find it now...

Bugger and I are both using the Road runner standard Brushed Metal Skin (BMV2). The zip file Bugger did up will contain the required files to drop into your skin folder and the readme.txt file tells you what command to use to OziEmbedded from the main menu. Pretty sure he has also included a new set of main menu .JPG's fro BMV2 which has an OziExplorer Button in place of XM radio.

If you have a standard install of the BMV2 skin and follow the readme.txt instructions, you should get it up and running as I tested it against a brand new RR installation. I usually copy the default skin to a new folder so I have a fall back point.

It does not really matter which skin you use as everything is self contained in Skinbedder. You just need to set up the button you want to use to start Skinbedder. The same should apply for other FE's like FreeIce Millsy is using.
