    Exclamation Not Working

I purchased the ScanLink a month ago and got it installed in my 1997 Chevy Blazer LS. I've installed the drivers and software and configured it for Com1. I ran the Auto Detect and it can't be found. I've tried cofiguring for different COMs and still nothing. Any help? Thinking of upgrading firmware to see if that works.

ScanLink is not one of the products we make. Can you read the actual name off the back label? Is it OBDLink or OBDLink S? How did you "configure it for COM1"? Are you using OBDwiz?

Its an OBDLink. After installing the drivers, manually since the link on the setup screen didn't work, I went into device manager and set it to use COM1. There were not any conflicts. I installed OBDwiz and connected the scanner to the PC. The lights on the module did not flash. It simply lit red. It only changes to green when disconnected from the PC.

The "Status" light should be red when the tool is powered from the car, change to amber when the USB cable is plugged in, and turn green when the port is open. So the behavior you described is the exact opposite of what it should be.

    Do this:

    1. Disconnect all cables, and watch the lights as you plug OBDLink into the car. What color is the status light? Did you see the Tx/Rx lights flash from left to right?

If the "Status" light is not lit, there is no power at the diagnostic connector. Check the fuses (the same fuse is often shared with the cigarette lighter).

    2. Plug in the USB cable. You should hear the familiar USB "ding-dong" and the "Status" light should alternate between red and amber. Pay attention to any warning messages.

    3. Download the latest update, and try to install it. Copy/paste any warning messages here.
