Okay, I will have a look for it
Sorry, forgot about that.
Perhaps I will just get that one then.
Im trying to find a RF mini keyboard with built in mouse/touchpad, which has a PS2 connection on the reciever. Ideally, it needs to be small enough to fit in a glove compartment.
I had the problem where it wouldn't find the GPS mouse at all, but just unplugging it, then plugging it back in fixed it.
Unfortunately Im no where near there.
But I may just end up getting Navigator. Its a good price for what it does.
Im trying to find a free or trial version of some GPS software like Navigator 4, Routis, etc.
Basically I just want to see how the GPS function on ym carputer could be when its all done, before...
None at the moment, as I have to buy some. Ive just been testing it with the GPS Info program which came with it.
I tried it outside today, and it wokred pretty well.
After about 1 min it got a lock onto about 6 satellites (green), and reguraly had a lock on 4 satellites (blue) calculating my position.
I will give it a try tommorow.
mp3oplecarrier: I noticed your in Kent. Im from Kent as well ;) Did you have any problems with the weather effecting the GPS, stopping it locking onto...
I have one green one so far, and thats with it sitting in my room, so I guess thats not too bad.
Well, at the moment it hasn't. As Im in my bedroom.
I will test it tommorw outside though.
Does it take time for it to lock onto satellites? How long should I wait.
I have a Globalsat BU-303 USB, and it only seems to find one satellite.
It has an LED on the side, whice Im sure is supposed to flash when it has a lock on some satellites, but mine stays lit.
But Ive just got one from somewhere else now.
Interested in the Lilliput 7" Touchscreen. I will PM you.
I might be interested.
Have you got any feedback anywhere?
Bit expensive though.
Here are the specs for my carputer:
VIA Epia ESP 5000
120GB 3"1/2 HD
Serinti S2000 ITX Case
Lilliput 7" touchscreen TFT
For powering it:
The only bad thing ive just noticed about the Psion Wavefinder, is that its mains powered. One powered via USB would be great.
Has anyone thought about getting a USB DAB reciever, like the Psion Wavefinder,
You could mount it on the back parcel shelf, or even in the boot I suppose.
Then gett cheap DAB radio in your car.
Im may be interested in either of these.
I will PM you guys
Mines booked for January 21, and so am I planning mine at the moment.
Thanks for the offfers, but Im afraid Im not driving yet. Not untill January next year (if I pass my test!).
Then I will start making my car MP3 system.
I just found this 5.6 inch TFT LCD Colour TV through Maplin.
I thought this would be great for the display when I make my car MP3 player. But I cant find any info about if it has any inputs on it....
I get what you mean.
Is there any one I could send it to, and they could get it working for me?
I'd pay them form their time, and postage obviously.
