Once again, WAY to much going on and too small of text and buttons for using it on a 7" screen while driving 60mph.
Larger buttons, less buttons, keep it simple
I have the opposite problem. I can see the top 'currently playing' bar while using GPS, but I've never been able to see the bottome 'player controls' while in GPS.
Select the one under Human Interface Device and update the driver. I cant remember what it's called exactly, but it starts with USB.
Personally, I'm not too fond of this skin. The light color of the current centrafuse skin makes seeing it hard as it is, so this doesn't look any better. Also the font is a little hard to read.
What I meant to say was I'm encoding it into MP4s using HandBrake for Mac and I can play it back in quicktime. It looks to be in FFmpeg video and AAC audio. I just tried playing it back in WMP with...
I'm compressing my DVDs into mp4 also using quicktime. However, WMP10 will not play them. Do mp4s require a certain codec installed?
I've had no luck either getting destinator 3 to embed in Centrafuse. I've just done a fresh install of everything including windows
EDIT: I fixed it. It looks like I had the wrong Destinator.exe...
Are you running in 'navigation mode'? The map doesn't move in 'planning mode'.
I personally don't like the crowded and small interfaces. I'll hopefully program my own sometime that will be as easy as possible for car use.
I agree with Alric. I wouldn't even mess with booting and shutting down. IMO OSX takes a lot longer to do these things than XP. However, it's 10x better than XP when it comes to 'sleep' / 'standby'.
I got my Compro Videomate TV Gold+ to work with radiator, which also allows it to work with frontends like frodoplayer, centrafuse, and mediacar. However, after I start the radio using any of these...
Oh man, I didn't know Opus might make a mac PS. That's great!
There are a few USB TV/FM combos. Since I already have a head unit, I only need TV so will probably go with a firewire or USB 2.0 tv...
I couldnt' get 800x480 working on an ati radeon 8500 either. I ended up having to downgrade to a Geforce 2 MX.
Actually making a 'frontend' by just using OSX is great. The dock icons work great! All apps can be running at once. Fonts and Icons can be customized to larger sizes. I'll work on an example this...
I have a feeling he hasn't used a mac other than the review. It seems slower than WinXP at first, but it's much easier and faster to get around than XP. BTW, I have used a Mac and PC side-by-side for...
Nice, at least I already have an Opus.
Here's a sweet concept. Bluetooth 3G phone with iSight makes it possible for anyone using iChat to videoconference you while you're driving :).
Is there any powersupply out there now that would be able to power this in car?
My VM4500 get's power through the USB while connected. Does the 8200 not do this?
Well, I didn't really mean to actually use Konfabulator. I was just trying to say that all the programs' backends are already there and very good. It's just a matter of putting them to use in a...
I will definately be getting a headless imac for my carmac. I'm all about safe and simple. The main things I want are music, videos, gps, and camera. I think just being able to do the basics would be...
When I goto the GPS within Mediacruiser, it comes up fine, but after I start pressing buttons, it goes back to the Mediacruiser menu and eventually Mediacruiser stops responding.
All except VOICE.
OMG, I just got MediaCruiser setup and played with it and all I can say is this is easily the best frontend there is. It's simple, fast, and easy to use while driving! I've only had a few issues with...
