This any good?
Yeah but its just stuck down for testing at the moment. I plan to blend it into the steering column cowl. Its a bit embarressing looking at the minute. Also I've noticed the performance trailing...
I'm soldering mild steel(chromed but with an exposed face) to stainless steel (I have the correct flux). Had a go last night - its not going to be possible to get both items hot enough as one is a...
As the repository of all bizarre and all arcane skills - has anyone got any experience of silver soldering / brazing? I need to do some soon and I was hoping to get some tips off the pro's
I think the key thing to understand with TEC devices is this: They do not remove any heat (thermodynamics ensures that), they add a significant amount. What they do is move it from one to place to...
Recently replaced mine.:)
I have no idea about the logitech mic. It just wasn't practical. I have the mic mounted on top of the steering column.
I had this too! I got a USB Mic in the end. I suspect its something to do with levels though. I tried an amplified mic and that worked. A passive mic wouldn't work yet it was fine on my desktop.
Not much. The logitech is the main cost. I'm in U.K and everything is more expensive here. It cost me about £25.
Just Googled the parts in the U.S
Logitech USB Desktop Mic $15.72
After a bit of experimenting and failing I have come up with a pretty decent mic for the car. I am using a Nokia HFM-8 as the microphone along with a hacked USB logitech desktop mic. I disconnected...
This what you're looking for?
The main problem I have with it is: it uses an automated installer. It asks you to point it at your winamp folder and it does the rest. Unfortunately it won't accept any of the folders within M.E...
Yeah thats where I put it. Its the winamp plugin for the M-BUS to usb adaptor made by jbors. It should allow me to use my factory head unit to change track on my PC.
Has anyone succeded in getting this to work? I have tried everything I can think of. Is it even possible? The plugin is for winamp so I thought it would be cool.
This is a much cheaper option.
Thought this might come in usefull for someone. Bit pricey though.
Its got a pass through for using a keyboard in parallel too.
You sensor what your 19yo looks at! He/She can vote for christ sake. Or for that matter go and buy the stuff legit.
Thing is - the 'general' public loves this stuff. We recently had a big fuss over holding "terror" suspects without charge. The public thought it was a great idea to hold them for longer. ...
Step by step:-
Take an ATX power supply.
Check that the 12v line can handle about 10 amps (sticker on the side)
Snip a molex connector off (or make an adaptor out of female with fly-leads)
Grrrrrr this is driving me nuts. I went out and bought a USB audio adaptor thingy with mic in. Exactly the same. I have IBM Via voice installed, could this be up to something?
Tried the 20db boost and checked the 5.1 option. Its driving me nuts.
I am pulling my hair out trying to get a mic working with my M1000. It works perfectly with my desktop but I get almost nothing in the car - just a slight flicker on the green bar. I have an idea...
Sounds like its going into standby not shutdown to me.
I've recently tried to get this working. I initially got the same results as above. I can fix this by turning down the volume on the microphone I am using. So I'm guessing the huge amount of noise...
Not cheap but....
