Perhaps add a few headers for buttons as well. A main board with headers for the encoder and buttons. This would add some mounting flexibility.
Also, this encoder/joystick is quite a bit cheaper:...
This is not applicable to the current design but something like this would be really cool:
Rotary knob for volume, move stick...
Is it possible to reprogram these to pause/play instead of muting? I am thinking of using one of these in a car attached to an Android tablet.
I also agree with the volume control knob idea.
When/if I ever decide to take the carputer plunge this is an item I would definitely be interested in.
Even 7dbi 2.4 and XM/Sirus would be good. GPS can be mounted hidden somewhere in the car for that matter
There 0db gain (according to the store details). It'd be better than having a laptop in the car though, because it wouldn't be bothered by the metal in your car.
That is PCS/GPS/Really weak 2.4...
You have the right idea.. that's the basic form I mean.
Does anybody know of any products out there which have an integrated XM or Sirius (2.3GHz), somewhat high gain 2.4GHz Wifi, and GPS into one roof mount antenna? May just be a dream, but that would be...
Bump - Anybody finding any more?
I'd be interested in how this would compare to a G4. Would MP3Car be interested in stocking these? It is a Giantec VPC5500
The MP3Car HD tuner prototype uses audio over usb. I am unsure of what chipset it uses however.
As for the amp, I haven't used it but the specs seem like they would fit in well. I haven't tried it...
Would the tuner in V2 be controlled via hardware or software? It'd be nice if it was something similar to the new mp3car hd tuner and just connected to the pc via usb. As for the amp you could add...
Will there be any room in this unit to possibly fit a mini-atx motherboard?
I'm looking for something that would preferably fit in behind a double din screen somehow. Another small amp I have found is here:
Something like that would be ideal if it had 4...
Class T MC 4x100-m
Perfect, but pretty expensive
This would be great... does anybody know of anybody who sells these pre-assembled?
Does anybody have any recommendations for a small 4 channel amp that would output no more than 22-25watts rms per channel. I'd like to get rid of my headunit but I'd rather not have a big amp in my...
I read somewhere that these are automotive grade hard drives. Is this true? What is the model number of the drives shipped with these?
How does the AM/FM tuner compare to a typical aftermarket unit?
It says the video is no longer available...
How does one of these screens compare to a transreflective unit?
Below 0C and hard drives do not mix.. I've had my share of laptop batteries start doing the click of death after forgetting them out in the car all night.
Oh yeah.. the G5 looks even better.. 1ghz Pentium 4 M... Wonder what video chipset would be in it?
