Looks immaculate, good job!
I fried my old setup while tryin to fix it, and I ended up upgrading to asus Eee laptop with my existing LCD, all interferences are gone now and FM radio is crystal clear!
However the Fob keys are...
How about shielding the LCD with foil or mesh?
I think a significant number of us car pc users hae noticed a diminished range of key fob after car PC installation.
I was wondering if anyone was able to overcome with issue :suspicious:
Amazing, I have been getting a lot of noise from my HD radio and this is a magical solution, I wonder if it is the same for Visteon zoom HD.
I would consider this mod in the future since my sound...
Nice setup you got in there.
I messed up my old setup and I had to upgrade.
I did the most efficient setup installing Eee 1000 as a car PC.
The most amazing thing about this machine is...
I fried my old car PC and I decided on Asus Eee 1000 as a replacement :)
I have ordered the original Asus DC adapter for 45$ received it DOA lol, so I ordered another one.
By the way, HD radio...
I got it and it didn't power my external hard drive lol, I had to mod it by shortening 2 rectifiers and adding a heat sink to the regulators. Now it can power anything hehe
I guess this explains it better.
USBs stay on as long as adapter is hooked to laptop whether battery is charging or not, Asus wanted to allow users to charge their other applications with USB...
????? This one confuses me. If the USBs are always on, won't a Fusion Brain also always be on and you can use it to control relays powered by the car battery???[/QUOTE]
Interesting use of...
I wrecked my Car PC :(
But I am using this as an excuse to upgrade to a asus Eee 1000 =)
I have been suffering from not being able to tune to any FM station because of power supply...
I am not really a pro with programming and making skins, I wish someone could help me add HD radio support with FM/AM feature on this skin :(
I had this happening 3 times in the whole 1.5 years of my Car PC, I decided to do a full check of wires and such, and then I wrecked the motherboard USB ports lol
Right now I got a Asus Eee 1000...
How about this one?
I have a question, how is your PSU doing? because I wonder if a 80w DC-DC PSU is sometimes not enough when there is a lot of USB ports being used with an intel mobo.
I bought one and tried it, it was not able to power the visteon :(
I think that optical isolator doesn't conduct to all pins in the serial.
Well... at least I tried!
Everything is grounded in my setup, there is no way I have ground loop problems.
I know the PSU is causing problems, but those problems are going through cables to the tuner, if we put effective...
This could be the magic bullet!!!
I found out that there is actually a serial "optical" loop isolator in the market, I wonder if it would solve the problems once and for all :becky:
OK guys I am going to share my two cents here!
I found out that when I pull out the serial cable of my Visteon, reception dramatically improved.
Maybe it is not only the power supply "only",...
Looks great :)
Good job bro!
Too powerful lol, might need another gas tank with generator to feed that beast
C'est super cool, felicitations!
Very neat, I like it.
Very nice install. Gotta love the way car PCs look in Mercs
