05 RX-8 custom fab install (motorized flip-up screen)

Oh wow, this is something I have decided to do. Is it possible you can post a detailed how to do this? My install needs 2 of these, but I do not want it to be motorized, just a simple spring action type setup were when you push down it clicks then folds up. Only thing is I have to start 100% from scratch, they have nothing like that for a Durango

Your ashtray looks aweseome. It looks like you used an unpowered USB hub taken out of its case. What is the switch there and the one on the panel by the DSC switch for? I've got a MS6 and made an ashtray swtich to defeat the startup controller for those times you're just moving your car in the driveway, but yours looks sooo much cleaner than mine (which I figured I'd have to redo one day).

I'm inspired, a very clean job. I've been trying to get an RX8 OEM dash screen piece for a reasonable price which is impossible in Australia. I'm looking into fabricating my own piece too.

That isn't my rx8. But I have one. Anyways I have followed this install and since that nav housing where the screen goes is not OEM it doesn't have the OEM tilt/open buttons. that switch is what opens and closes the screen.
