Yes, you should search... and Yes, It has been covered before!

My '01 Tahoe gets about 18-19 in town. Of course, I warm it up for 20 min every morning right now, so it's averaging about 16MPG between fill-ups.
Anyway, hijacking aside, your project is really looking great. I can't wait for it to warm up. I have so many freaking projects that I can't do while it's cold.

thanks guys! Now if I could just figure out why the screen blinks and get that fixes I'll be happy.
Hey slick install, it looks fantastic!
I am a secondtime noobi, and have been lurking awhile.
But your project has further sparked my interest in a pc in my truck.
I have a 1997 Chev full ton crew that I am going to put the interior(mostly the dash) from a truck in your year range in and then install a computer.
My question to you is - do the steering wheel controls work with your setup and how?
Thanks and great looking install again!
You could make them work with the steering wheel controls very easily. Either with phidgets, or with a chopped and hacked keyboard... Do some searching on the forum.

I used a PAC aux in module that hooks between the factory harness and the stock head unit. From that, I was able to hook the PC sound into the aux in. My factory steering wheel controls work exactly the same. I can control the source, volume level, mute, everything just like before. Like Uraijit is saying I could probably take it a step further and use them to control certain things on the PC, but for me, the TS works just fine.
Damm dude nice work. Where did you get the texture and paint. I have a 97 silverado that is almost the same color and texture.....Thanks ahead of time.
Once again great work
