99 civic HX w/ Mac mini and 10.4 LCD

Please check out the next page as I have molded the screen in to the console
First is a picture of my original screen which was the flipout lilliput. You can see the size difference between a 7" and a 10.4"
The second and third picture are of where the mac is and before and after with the vinyl skin. It makkes it not so noticable for would be theives.
Fourth pic is of the new screen in place.
Fifth pic just the screen on in daylight(not bad for $220)
Sixth pic is of the bracket I made for the screen(black piece came w/ screen) This makes it easy to take out and hide. For when I'm in a bad area.
Seventh pic is showing how badly the wires stick out at the bottom. I have since bought a ultra thin VGA which helps a lot but still sticks out a little.

Why'd you buy a 10" LCD knowing you couldn't fit it in the dash? I like the OEM look, so this isn't too eye pleasing. The sunlight pic is rather impressive though.

It's a nice screen, same as I have, and it is unbelieveable how much bigger they are than the 7" and 8" versions - with better execution, it would look really neat inside your car - aka in-dash setup

the vinyl skin certainly makes the mac mini less inviting for thieves....but that 10 inch screen kinda draws a bit of attention.

so you replaced a 400 dollar screen for a 220 dollar screeN?

Yeah I'll be putting the liiliput up on ebay soon. It was only used for about a week

Thats why its not in the dash and its easy to remove when I am parked in bad areas I can put it in the trunk

I like the oem look myself but I couldn't pass up this screen. I wish I had more room to work with but oh well. I may wind up replacing the 10" with a 9" and locating it infront of the mini, but making it flip up for loading CD's

there is no good place for a screen in the dash. However I am planning(wanting) to put a flip down 9.2 where the cig lighter is. It would flip down in front of the mac mini but still flip up to load cd's & dvd's. Also It would be shaded pretty well from daylight
