I disagree, I defintaltly feel the same as turbo. If you are doing a good job, why stop halfway. I end up doing something over 4 times if I do a poor job at first....!
Really over the top

Don't get me wrong, adjustable vents are fine and dandy, but I never adjust them once I have them set right so I see making fixed vents perfectly acceptable and not as some halfway job. So when I say the adjustable vents are over the top it's just my opinion.

i agree, once they're set, they stay put. I can see having the adjustibility for a multiple driver car, or if you leave that in the car after you sell it... Either way, it adds up to a completely nice install and looks factory, which is good for anti-theft.
I think also that for this car the vents have a open/close switch (the round dial) that he's wanting to keep. (some cars don't have an "off" option other than on the vent itself)

Sorry that came out a little wrong. I didnt mean having a fixed vent as a poor job. It was sort of a two in one statement. If you were planning on doing something, stoping and settling for someting less always sucks.
I play with my vents constantly, so I really like the idea of adjustable vents, but thats jsut me.

I think all things being equal, anyone would choose movable vents over stationary. the only reason to not do them movable is that it's hard to do, but that is not a good enough reason when you want 100%... I don't want this to look like someone put a pc in, I want it to look like it came this way from infiniti, only fully articulating vents will do
plus, sometimes you want a blast of cool air, but sometimes your really sweaty & can't have the a/c blowing directly on you, but you still want to cool the interior hard, or may need to move the air away to light a cigarette, or my wife may be overheating & diverting all vents towards her could avoid an explosion, I use my adjustability all the time.![]()

left & right, half way there
I was concerned how well one single slat would divert air side to side, but it works good, I can blow straight at me or completely away from me, so it does the job.
up & down will be the biggest pita, I'm getting weak... if I skip up & down, I could probably button it all up & drive it by this weekend...., na, I'm going to give it a little more time... but by next week I'll switch plates & have her on the road... mp3car meet next saturday, I want to have this thing ready enough to drive it there

inside vents aren't painted yet, so they look white just sanded, but will be matte black & dark inside when done...

Beautiful can't wait to see whats next. Better than most of the t.v. shows out there. lol
update, I recieved my touchscreen, I'm using a fujitsu anti-glare touchscreen, 4 wire resistive usb interface. the digitizer is still in place, I instaled drivers & calibrated. both the digitizer & the touchscreen can co-exist & work well with each other, it's awsome to be able to use the magnetic pen with the digitizer, then be able to just poke the screen with your finger too, I don't think I've seen any other installs that have used a dual mode touchscreen setup like this...
running tablet edition & a digitizer means there is never really a need for a keyboard or a mouse, you can do everything thru the screen if necissary, I'll also have a keyboard & mouse in this install anyway.
I built a cage for the motherboard, to protect it from..., well.... I haven't figured out what I'm protecting it from, but it's protectedI put everything togeather with the climate controls & radio & all, everything reaches & fits nicely,
I played with the system for a bit & it works well, visability even with the touchscreen is good, I tested a sunlight bulb against the screen & I'm happy to see the touchscreen has no negative affects with the reflective ability of this screen, I wasn't sure how an antireflective cover would affect the screen's reflective abilities, but it's all fine, the antiglare touchscreen really does a nice job with glare... before, the screen was like a mirror, but now reflections in the screen are seriously diffused, & this is what eliminates the glare.
the screen loves light, & as long as theres light it's visable, I even played around with a projector lamp up in the overhead console area behind the overhead screen, focused & pointed down on this screen.... it looks awesome... I can recess this light enough that you will not see it from inside or outside the car, just see it's illumination on the screen... it looks pretty sick actually![]()
