ok, I finally got to test this in the sun, direct & blinding sun, even the glare from the black matte bezel is glaringly white & blinding, but the screen is great... can read it fine, the touchscreen does have that typical milky white kinda look in the sun, but it doesn't hurt the visability of this... the fujitsu antiglare touchscreen is a good piece & does the job well

hey, thanks man, this install has gone nice & smooth, no problems or comprimises really, even all the factory stuff is stil intact & funtioning as it should, the only loss is the cassette deck, still don't know what the hell they were thinking by putting a cassette deck in this truck, I'm not missing it one bit

Looks incredible. Is the OEM screen just mounted up there right now or is there something molded for that?

On a side note, i was damn glad this weekend to have adjustable vents... my car was overheating on my way home from boston, so I put the heat on full blast (which worked very well to drop the engine temp) and with the windows down it was bearable, but I think I would have overheated if the vents werent adjustable away from me! Granted I hope for everyone that should never be their reason to want adjustable vents, but i thought id mention it anyway....

right now it's mounted but not molded, I have to decide what I'm doing up there, may eliminate the rear view mirror all togeather & have another rear camera for driving, the factory rear camera now points down & it's a fisheye lens, really wide but no distance abilties really, good for parking but not as primary rear view. if I eliminate the mirror then I have no need for a rear wiper, so the second camera would go thru the wiper hole & the wiper eliminated, then I gotta see if I'm going to mount the display of the driverack up there too... that console may take a little while to finalize really.

tonight I was able to mount the radio & align it with a slot that I made above the clock in the console., I was able to fit it all in there, clock & ashtray even intact... the cd's load & eject nicely, & are guided in by the bottom edge of the upper dash, works pefectly with no jambs or missalignments, smooth you don't even see this slot unless you bend down to look for it, I still need to put a flap inside so it looks finished 100%, but it looks pretty good really, not ugly at all & not even seen mostly.

I still need to relocate the *slot occupied* sensing switch from the upper orig slot down to the lower, this tells the radio theres a disc waiting to be loaded, but that shouldn't be a problem really, I'll do that when I put the pc slot load drive in the upper opening, so this part is pretty much done too, it's getting there, plates on this thing any day now

They don't in TX. Even if the back window is completely blocked, like a wall of subs or something, you still have to have the mirror. It sounds dumb, but it's the law here.

A simple workaround would be for Turbo to have a friend do his vehicle inspections and hope the cops don't notice or have a simple mirror he can prop over the video screen on certain occassions. I don't know, I was just asking. Maybe the laws are different there.

hmm, i understand now. we don't have inspections of any sorts here, so i guess I'd only have to sorry about cops (since i wanted a VFD in the mirror)

I'm sure Turbo already has it all figured out lol
