What about a darker gray? Ehhh, I may just have to photoshop it to see. First day of ownership I had a turn down added right after the main cat, bypassing both mufflers. I gotta have it loud!
PS, torque picked up, you can feel it.
well' I think it would be a little difficult to try & match the gray exactly, & then even if you could, it might look to plain like that anyway.
gloss black might look nice, but a lot of work to get it really nice & if it's not done really nice it might look cheap. I'm sure you can get your switches done in a way to not need to do all that unless you want to anyway. a really dark metallicy gray might look nice too, I wouldn't do body color red or it'll look to ricey I think.
I'm not much of a ford fan either, but the tbird is a nice big coupe so there cool, is your drivers door hanging yet?they ALL have big hinge problems cause the door is so big & heavy, & ford has a really engenious method of attaching the upper hinge, they have 2 bolts from the outside that are EZ, but then they have one bolt that you have to unscrew from inside, behind the dash... lot of fun those are

I'm not a ford guy either (own a taurus though) but they have made some pretty good cars, tbird, most generations of the mustang, all the SHO's, etc, and, ya can't kill them trucks either.
I think a dark metallic gray like turbs was saying would look good, as long as it's carried on somewhere else in the car. Either that or satin black something with a nice low sheen would look good.
OR... maybe wrap it in black fiberglass mat, and just gel coat it. That may require some vacuum bagging though... and a lot more effort (sanding, etc.)
Whatever is done, I'd say keep the theme consistent. Use that color or material in other places in the car, otherwise it looks unfinished.

yeah, I would think a couple of door inserts or so should be all that's needed to tie it in, don't overdo painting everything or it'll start to look real tacky I think...

Ya, agreed, there's got to be a good balance, too little looks like you didn't spend enough time planning and/or didn't buy enough material, too much looks like you bought a lot of material and just put it on anything that would come off with a screwdriver.
Good luck with that project, is it getting the PC treatment too?

so you blew the engine? wtf happened? nice excuse for more power though
the twin turbo setup I'm considering for this fx is around 400hp to the wheels, these things are not as easy as a chevy to build, that's for surewish I could drop an LS2 in this thing, not that easy or practical though

1998 Camaro Worklog Starting over, New setup for 2010
To compress the story: It was a very unusual situation where I got water sucked up the cold air induction. It was knocking. Insurance would only pay to to replace bent rod+piston. It started knocking again after 3 weeks. New estimate was to replace engine, but it cost so much Insurance just totaled the car. I got car back + $8000. I bought Tbird for $2K.
$5K+ and counting set aside for new engine.
