That's some awesome work turbocad! Good luck with your FX!!
I just had to return mine on October 1st, from a 1-year lease.. Sure is a sweet ride, and I really do miss it.
hey, thanks tj, so a one year lease? hows that happen?
anyway, just a few updates for this thing... I finally buttoned up the dash & got the instal to the point of it looking really nice.. destinator all integrated with cf, no wires hanging anywhere... no holes where vents should be... a few shots :D
also may not be pc related but I'l throw in a few shots of a mirror mod I did with s550 signal lights, don't think I showed them here before  & oh yeah, the paddles installed
This is freaking awesome man. You make me jealous with your skill TC.
I'm gona save this thread for reference in my future install. It's going to be either a Sienna or Odyssey (more likely a next gen Sienna or current Sienna if I don't like the new Sienna look.)
Awsome job, man!
Now can you give more shots of the stock display? I know you put it on the sunglass bin overhead. How did you do with the wires?
I'm thinking about putting a 7" or smaller screen overhead, and keep the stock unit on my M35. I can see no other way of doing it, unless I lose the clock/stock head unit, but I wanted that for radio...
How would the wires go from the overhead unit to the carputer? How would you do it, if you don't mind me asking you for suggestions...If you can't think of anything, please post some more pics of that, if you can. I think that was a very original idea. Did you lower your rear view mirror after all?
Thanks anyway, and congrats again for the wonderful work. I'm a newbie, but I read through all your posts. Very entertaining reading!
yeah matrix,... definatley big screen in those babies :D
my overhead isn't finished at all, just temped out really, I haven't decided where I'm going with that, I got a few different ideas...
to be nice yeah, the mirror would have to be moved some really, overhead is a good idea if you want to maintain the whole stock setup down low, takes some work & butchery though, but can be a nice solution & way better than nothing... I'm not too familiar with what the overhead looks like in the m35
Now send some pics to Nissan and tell them this is how they should have come factory. :)
Or better yet, send those pics and say you just bought it and wondered what the option was that came with such a large screen. That would have them scratching their heads.
yeah, you shoulda seen the techs face at the infiniti dealer when I brought it in for a fuel pump... the guys were bugging out...
first the service writer had a strange look on his face & was asking for the registration, saying somthing isn't right here, he didn't belive it was an 03, & he got even more suspicious when he put the vin# in & it came up as being silver... then later the tech came to me & was like, you gotta tell me, who did that for you? I said I did it myself & I could tell he just didn't believe me, kept asking if I knew where he could get that done to his car:rofl:
... it was pretty funny really. I've had some customs in the past that i always thought to bring it to a dealer just to see the look on there face, this one I actually had to though :D I had a riv convertable once with a grand national fwd conversion & brought that into the dealer, the tech there was arguing with me saying that it was factory, the rivs had a turbo option... I had to tell him, yeah, but a 301 pos.. not an intercooled 3.8 sfi  that car was a sick ride too btw :) I still have it, rotting away in a backyard somewhere... one of my first radical customs

In any case, I'm looking forward to see more of your overhead solution for the stock screen.
